I originally got dragged here by my husband, but I must say I really enjoyed it. I learned so much too. There's so much heritage and so many interesting local stories from our ancestors. It's good that they present all the facts even if it's sitting in the south...yankees are well represented too. maryland was split down the middle it seems more

Civil War History 8/4/2005

Ask most people who live in Northern States and they will tell you that Maryland is "South". Ask most people who live in Southern States and they will tell you that Maryland is "North". Because of this geography we're not quite sure what to call ourselves: and a lot of the Civil War was also fought in Maryland because of this particular location. The Civil War Museum is really interesting to check out: with artifacts and displays and a LOT of information, the museum talks not only about the civil war but about the part Maryland played in this war. On a side note the museum is within walking distance of Federal Hill, where one of the battles of the war was fought. There you can see memorials and other information about this war too. more
