They put on the most professional and exquisite performances. The costumes are beautiful and all detailed and fitted. The choreography moves me. I cried during their Romeo & Juliet performance and the snowflakes dance in The Nutcracker will give you goosebumps with the snowflakes and the synchronized dancers. I'm feeling chills as I type this now. I have seen other performances from other studios around California and in San Diego, and none of them have come close to City Ballet's. You must go see one of their shows. Take your loved ones. more

City Ballet is THE Ballet Mecca for San Diego . Compared to other schools my daughter has attended , City Ballet is unique in that all of the instructors are professional dancers in their own right , many of whom are in the City Ballet Company . If you want your child to learn from the best in a NURTURING, POSITIVE environment then City Ballet fits the bill . The studios are funky but the instruction brings students from all over the world who realize what this best kept secret in San Diego offers. more

The Spreckels Theater, by the way, is a truly charming and surprisingly intimate theater. This staging featured a live orchestra that is seated at the same level as the first few rows of seats so it is not buried in an orchestra pit. The ornate theater and presence of the orchestra leads to a very memorable experience. Worth every penny! more

  • Since its inception in 1992, City Ballet School provides the ballet training to students of all ages. It offers unsurpassed dance training programs for children and pre-professionals. The firm offers a wide range of open classes for adults all year long and summer dance program for children interested in ballet. It also provides a special opportunity for students at least 11 years old to take ballet class from world-famous ballet instructors. It provides a program which offers three weeks of classes and rehearsals, all led by Steven and Elizabeth Wistrich.
