The Michigan Avenue location makes this fairly easy to get to by public transportation and the theaters are clean and comfortable. It's a fine place to see a mainstream movie, and...

I have patronized this theater quite a few times in the past and here are my observations: Pros: location Cons: staff, equipment, cleanliness

AMC Loews 600 Chicago--Much room for improvement 1/1/2009

A Notch Below Mediocre 3/21/2007

OK - this theater is nearest my company, and I like to skate out to a matinee as often as possible. I also like to have a hot dog at the movies. When I get to this theater for the early showing, hot dogs are never available. The popcorn, my 2nd choice, is always room temperature as it's been sitting at the bottom of the bin for an hour. The cost is completely outrageous for the slim selection and unfriendly help. Looks like most of the employees don't realize there are far worse jobs than ripping a ticket and pointing to a number or escalator. Get with the program, management. I've spent hundreds of dollars there on movies only because of your proximity to me. I've started walking to the East Illinois St theater. More movies, better food (always hot), cleaner theaters. Avoid Mich Ave. Pros: proximity to walking distance Cons: food, selection, customer service. more

smack dab in the middle 2/9/2006

in spite of soaring ticket prices, it's not too bad for a michigan avenue movie venue - it could probably use a bit of upgrading in terms of sound system and seating wear, but overall , it serves its purpose. i would avoid the concession, though... unless you're desperate and can't wait to pay $7 for a small bottle of water Pros: accessible, variety of films Cons: smallish theaters, a bit worn down more

Convenient location 5/27/2002

The Michigan Avenue location makes this fairly easy to get to by public transportation and the theaters are clean and comfortable. It's a fine place to see a mainstream movie, and by the looks of the worn carpet in the lobby, it gets quite a lot of traffic. Pros: Convenient location, Mainstream films, Cup holders Cons: Worn, unkept bathroom more

best downtown theater 5/15/2002

For mainstream movies, this is the best general cinema kinda place to go (for action flix, go to mcclurg for the huge screen). Clean, good selection, good concessions, and it's conveniently located. more
