If you're into being treated badly, go to ChristoperJon's Salon. The receptionists are, without exception, deplorable. Think of gum-snapping, repulsively rude and badly behaved children and you'll get the picture. Time and again I've called for an appointment only to be put on hold and forgotten. Once, when I called back to complain that I'd been left on hold for 15 minutes, the receptionist actually said 'so?' Other times I've found it impossible to get the hairdresser I want (apparently they serve the stay-at-home community because they have few evening hours and they're closed Sundays). Today I called for an appointment and I was told that my hairdressed was "completely booked" all week. The receptionist didn't ask for my name, she didn't offer to let me know if there were any cancellations and she didn't suggest that I try any other hairdressers. Instead, she said "Well?" and when I said quietly that I supposed I would go elsewhere, she said "suit yourself" and hung up.
I've spent $50 to $100 a month in that salon for the last two years and it finally struck me today that for all the rudeness and expense, the cuts I get there are just . . . okay. Mainly I've been going because the salon's close to my home. But today I decided I'd had quite enough and I booked an appointment in a salon in Sayville village. And from their website it looks like everyone there is an adult. And they answered their phone on the first ring. And they were polite. They haven't cut a hair on my head yet , but they're already leagues ahead of ChristopherJon's Salon.
