Our Church is one of many worldwide branches of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts. Christian Science was founded in 1879 by Mary Baker Eddy "to commemorate the word & works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity & its lost element of healing." Church Services are held every Sunday morning at 10am. The service, led by lay members of the church, is a quiet time to commune with God & includes readings from the Bible & our textbook, Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Music includes a solo & communal singing from the hymnal. Sunday School for students up to the age of 20 is held at the same time. Students learn the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, the Lord's Prayer Christ Jesus' Sermon on the Mount & other healing truths. Child Care is available for those too young to attend Sunday School. Tesimony Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30pm. The first half of the service consists of readin gs from the Bible & Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures on a topic of interest, followed by a half-hour of gratitude, inspiration & remarks on healing from members & friends. A Reading Room is provided for our community with Bible reference materials & authorized Christian Science literature, including Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures, the Christian Science Sentinel & Journal are available to borrow or purchase.
The Reading room is located at the entrance of the church & is open Wednesday evening from 6pm till 730pm and following every service.
