This guy is after your wallet, stay away from him. 10/17/2010

I found him on citysearch after reading reviews.\r I had a severe backache which made me unable to sleep, sit or walk. He did some diagnostics and sent me home without any treatment. After I went back a few days later, he tried to steer me into a 1-year program that costs several thousand dollars to not only fix my backache but straighten out the spine.\r \r It didn't sound right, so I called around and found a college friend who became a chiropractor in another state. He told me that, 1) he should have done something to alleviate the pain on my first visit, 2) shape of the spine was formed since the day I was able to lift my head when I was a baby, so it would be very difficult, if not impossible, to straighten it out, and furthermore, 3) most people do not have perfectly shaped spine and unless it is serious, it doesn't cause problem, and finally, 4) anyone who tries to get a patient into a program that costs several thousand dollars should be doubted.\r \r Stay away from him. He's after your wallet.\r \r If your physician is recommending this person to you, may be they are referring each other patients, or suspect something even worse. more

Our family has been seeing Dr. Preiss for over 10 years. Our two daughters have had numerous sports injuries and one daughter has a condition where her knees hurt because she grew tall very fast. All these conditions have been treated with expertise, great professionalism and empathy. My husband has had two serious accidents which Dr. Preiss treated both the trauma and the pain. We believe that everyone can benefit from chiropractic and that Dr. Preiss is one of the best!! Pros: Professional, Friendly office, Knowledgeable Cons: Some insurance, doesn't cover the, cost more

The Chiro of MD's! 8/24/2005

Many times while in Dr. Preiss's office, I have observed him adjusting medical doctors and other chiropractors! This both impresses me and gives me peace of mind. Chiropractic is serious business and I want the most qualified individual adjusting me! Dr. Preiss takes his time, performs detailed evaluations, talks to his patients about their bodies...he's even helped me with exercise, depression, and other issues. His staff is excellent and I feel like family when I walk in the door. I am a firm believer in chiropractic and I recommend that you look no further. If other chiropractors and even md's trust him, so can we! Pros: natural care, free parking, excellent service more

Dr. Preiss was recommended by my neurologist! 8/10/2005

I had a spinal cord injury in 1988. Recently, arthritis at injury site started causing radicular pain down my arms. I missed work and spent my time on a heating pad. I was taking increasingly higher doses of the drug Neurontin, and my physicians were talking referral to a neurosurgeon. I didn't like the direction things were going. I switched neurologists and asked about chiropractic. My new neurologist said, ""Do you want to see my chiropractor?"" I said yes and went to Dr. Preiss. Within 3 months, with Dr. Preisss treatment and my neurologist's guidance, I weaned off Neurontin. I remain pain-free, full of energy and have my life back. I would recommend that every person see Dr. Preiss. His exams are thorough, he educates me about what is going on w/ my body and his staff is wonderful. What more could you ask for? Amy Williams, Portland. Pros: free parking, careful exam, friendly office more
