Better than the Dollar Store that used to be here 3/21/2006

When I want a quick, healthy meal when I'm on my way to work, I head here. I like that I can park right outside and they are done with my order faster than the meter maids can write me a ticket. This is a big restaurant for the Ave. They have great fajitas, burritos, etc. I like them, but not as much as I LOVE Agua Verde. When I was a UW student, I appreciated their location, freshness and quickness. The employees are very nice, and they recognize that they have a transient, rushed and sometimes broke clientele. And I still have the cheap tupperware that I bought at the big Dollar Store that used to be here many eons ago (early 1990s)....I kinda miss that store! more

Meal for two, please 3/8/2006

I was a total hater of Chipotle on the Ave when it first opened-- how could I not be, seeing as how they replaced my beloved Denny's? However, I was lured in one year by their annual "free food for students" day and I've been a devoted Chipotle fan ever since (yes I'm a sucker for advertising). Their burritos are ENORMOUS and good for about two meals. Their carne asada is delicious; and the guacamole, though a tad expensive, is as good as any I make at home. Show your UW ID and get a free drink. more

It's McDonald's in disguise 12/25/2005

Apparently Chipotle is owned by McD's, and you might guess it based on the way they do some of the food prep, but I liken it more to "Subway sandwiches does Burritos". Like every outfit in town these things are huge. A regular size is more than 1 person can possibly justify eating. The vegetarian options are reasonable, so long as you're willing to accept that they cook the veggies on the same grill as the chicken and beef. more

Solid burrito for decent price 9/9/2005

Chipotle is a pretty good chain burrito joint. I think it beats Taco Del Mar in quality and they have simple, yet good choices for salsa's and toppings. I was a little dissapointed that a dallop of Guacamole cost me $1.50, but I was otherwise happy with my lunch. I would go again, and recommend for a quick, decent bite if you are already in the area. more

DELICIOUS!!! 8/30/2005

A great place to dine when you want something quick and convienent but not all the grease of fast food restaurants. For something light try the soft tacos! You get three and yet there isn't too much food. For a bigger feast try a burrito, filled with rice, beans, meat, and all the good salsa and condiments, it is definetely amazing! I reccomend using the corn salsa and the cheese. You can dine in or take it to go (it's kind of like the subway of burritos!) Also, if you are a student at the UW, show them your student ID and you get a free medium size fountain drink. more

Dare I recommend a chain burrito joint 9/29/2004

Okay, it is no Pancho Villa but we're not in SF. This place (though I hate to support a subsidiary of McDonalds) is pretty darn good. I had vegetarian tacos there at lunch today and the flavors were nice, quantity of guac on my taco almost too much (when does that happen), i had a great corn relish salsa and overall positive experience despite the long line of college kiddos. I saw on their menu they also serve free range pork carnitas from Niman Ranch- who knew? Sorry, I know. Next thing you know I'll write a Baja Fresh review. more
