New Chinese Historical Museum 8/14/2005

This new museum located in Chicago's Chinatown presents the experiences and lifestyles of early Chinese immigrants in the Midwest. The museum is very small, and presents a limited amount of historical background; however, it shows potential for growth and improvement. They are planning to expand to the second floor, and with some additional artifacts, it could prove to be interesting for more audiences than just the asian community. Most of the exhibits are photographic, but there are some pieces of clothing, a setup of an old Chinese laundry, and a couple other relics. The entrance fee is only $1, so it's worth a visit if you're in the area. more
