I LOVE Hairdooz, David is amazing and I finally have a local salon!! 8/13/2008

My criteria for a salon was purely location, I'd been driving from Los Feliz to my stylist in Beverly Hills and just cant deal deal any more. Pros: Everything but parking Cons: Parking (but you CAN park in the Trader Joes lot... Shhh) more

Color was fine, but don't let David cut or dry your hair 7/4/2008

I had seen some great reviews for this place, so despite the name I took a chance, hoping the neighborhood place would work out for me. It's convenient, the owner, David, is remarkably sweet. It's clean. more

Perfect dooz for over 20 years 3/18/2008

I've had my hair cut and colored here for over 20 years, and I have never left unhappy. My husband and son also have their hair cut here, and each of us has definite ideas about what we want. The stylists listen to each of us, and yet also have ideas about how to achieve what we need from that appointment. So, whether you're like me and have reached the age when good color really helps add spark to the perfect cut I've gotten, or are like my son who wants it left as long as possible and have it still qualify as a haircut, you will find what you are looking for at Hairdooz. They are all highly skilled stylists who really listen and have great ideas, and they are genuinely nice people. more

A great place to do your Doo! 3/4/2008

I've been going to HairDooz for over a decade now. I used to live in Los Feliz and passed the store while running errands, etc. I thought I'd give the neighborhood salon a try. I used to have Pat cut my hair, but she retired so then I gave Myra a shot. Fast forward 10 years and I'm still with Myra. And I don't even live in the neighborhood any more. Having Myra cut my hair is like putting on a favorite pair of jeans: comfortable and reassuring. Myra is great fun and very professional. I always leave looking like a million bucks and she has got me to try different looks that I would not have thought of for myself. Pros: Great service, clean salon, comfortable atmosphere, no snooty salon attitude Cons: sometimes the cel phone reception there is bad more

Great haircut and color - Myra is an artist with hair! 3/1/2008

Myra at Hair Dooz is the best hairstylist I have ever known. She has seen me through years of good hair. She makes me feel hip and beautiful and energized. The salon is classy and artsy and friendly. A great experience that I look forward to month to month. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Pros: Restful, eclectic, friendly more

Best Haircut You'll Ever Have! 2/17/2008

I found Hairdooz several years back just wandering in - what a stroke of luck! It's a friendly neighborhood shop that will give you a cut that makes you feel like a million bucks! David Beckman, the owner, is one of the best stylists I've ever come across. He knows how to steer clients to keep their looks fresh but also really respects personal preference and style and somehow finds a brilliant balance between these goals each and every time. I recommend this salon to all of my friends that are most dear to me - you'll never go anywhere else again if you give them a try. more

great!! 2/11/2008

I've been going to Hair Dooz for several years and love it. David is absolutely great. He convinced me to cut my mid-back length hair short -- and I have never regretted it!! Very good job with my curly hair. Total strangers have commented on my cut, saying how good (and flattering) it is. Pros: friendly; close to home Cons: parking can be tricky (unless you go at 9 am!) more

Long time, very sastisfied customer 2/4/2008

I have been going to Hair Dooz for going on 10 years and have never had a bad haircut or color. Very friendly, neighborhood place. Prices are very reasonable for the level of professionalism and hairstyling. I know it's the right place for me because friends, co-workers, strangers still ask me where I get my hair cut. Pros: Location, atmosphere, professionalism Cons: None that I am aware of! more

Fabulous Find for Hair Care 2/2/2008

I needed a new hair place and took a chance on Hair Dooz. I love it! they got it right the first time with the cut and were very patient and accomodating with a new color experiment. All the stylists are friendly and it's just a nice place. I have difficult hair and I also have a stylist in the family so I'm not that easy to impress. I say try it! Pros: Mellow place, cool folks, Coffee Table restaurant around the corner Cons: None so far more

Worst haircut EVER! 1/2/2008

I went for a haircut in November. Without any hesitation or exaggeration, I can honestly say this is the WORST haircut I have ever had in my 48 years of life. I couldn't stand to look at myself in the mirror. When I did, I invariably started crying. I can't believe I paid someone $70 to do this to me. My hair looked like it had been cut with a weedwhacker. The sides and top were uneven in length. The back was cut so short and flat; it looked like someone smacked me in the back of my head with a shovel. I made it VERY clear to the stylist that I DIDN'T want my hair short. I even brought a picture to show her what I wanted. The stylist didn't listen to any of my input. If my stylist didn't think she could make my hair look the way I wanted, she should have told me so, rather than attempting to work with my kind of hair (very wavy). That's why I chose to go to an establishment with a good reputation and experienced stylists. I was willing to pay more than I usually pay to get the new look I wanted. I know there's nothing I can do at this point but wait for my hair to grow out. As it grows, it is becoming even more unattractive, if that's possible. I was severely affected by this experience. I had a job interview recently with a company I really wanted to work for. I thought I would go in there with a really good haircut; looking and feeling good about myself. I was so self-conscious about my hair; I don't think I was able to project any kind of confidence, whatsoever. The salon website has a feedback feature which I used to inform them of my extreme dissatisfaction. I never heard back from them. Not an apology, not a note about trying to rectify the situation. I'm glad I found this review feature on Citysearch to warn others and keep them from making the same mistake I did. more

Pretty Impressed 5/12/2007

I have super curly hair and have always had a hard time finding someone who can work with it. The ladies down at Rudy's did an okay job for a while, but they had too much ego for me. They didn't listen when I told them to do something this way or leave that conditioner in. Look, you may think you know better because you studied at Vidal or something, but I've lived with my freaking hair my whole life! I think I know what I'm talking about by now. The hair stylist at Hair Dooz was different. She actually LISTENED to me. Not that she's a god and can't make mistakes, but I was defnitely pleased. She heard what I said, did what I suggested, and even made some fun suggestions for a new style. I ended up loving it. I will definitely go back! Pros: stylists that actually listen Cons: a little pricy, but I'm used to cutting my own hair... so I can't really complain more

Best Hair Salon Studio in LA 7/26/2006

Great customer service and hair cuts that leave you feeling like a Celebrity!!! Dont believe those bad reviews ive been going to Hair Dooz for years and will never go elsewhere! Just try it for yourself,i KNOW youll love it! Pros: great service! more

Dont ever go here..... 7/23/2006

The only reason why I went to this salon is because it is close to my house....I will never go back again. I wanted my hair to be brown.....Miss hair stylist left my hair 1/2 brown and 1/2 black. I will never go again. No experience.......not good!!!!!!!! more

worst hair cut ever 6/15/2005

still growing out the one of the worst cuts i have ever had. i read the review here and went because it seemed decent. how wrong! the stylist cut a terrible shelf in my hair and was unable to correct it after she attempted to layer it. she also cut my bangs in varieties of lengths, such that one side was 3"" long while the other side was less than 1""! and it wasn't punk or new wave or anything trendy, just terrible. the color matching was good, but for $60 only a small portion of my hair seemed to have been colored. this place is not reccommended! Pros: next to trader joes Cons: expensive, bad cuts more

love my hairdresser 6/30/2004

I've been a client of hairdooz for the past six years, and always leave with a great cut and color. I' m continually being asked, ""Who does your hair""? Im currently a red head, but have been a blond and a brunette. Changing my look is fun and exciting for me, and the staff is always up for the challenge. Over the years I've referred family, friends, colleges, and even dragged a few boyfriends in for some repair. Depending on the time of day the atmosphere can be very relaxed and soothing, or shift into high gear in the blink of an eye. Visiting the salon is always a rewarding experience. Pros: friendly atmosphere, great value Cons: , parking is tricky more
