Shopping 7/2/2003

A great place to get some very cool things, but check around, the prices vary quite a bit from store to store. Have your camera ready, you never know when a dragon will be walking down the street! Pros: Cheap Shopping Cons: Crowded more

History 4/7/2003

Though the history behind this area is interesting, I found it crowded and a bit dirty. It was nice to go through on the cable car but I didn't see anything that induced me to leave the car for further inspection. Lots of vegetable and tea markets. Pros: History, Different culture, On cable car route Cons: Crowded, Dirty more

Union Square Garage is far more pricey than the Portsmouth Square Garage. I have no idea what the person was talking about when suggesting that one park at the Union Square Garage. To go to Chinatown, the Portsmouth Square Garage or St Mary's Garage are the most reasonable and convenient to Chinatown. Union Square Garage is convenient for Union Square but expensive. If visiting Union Square, the Sutter Stockon Garage is a better deal as the ones mentioned are all owned by the city and not private. more

Definetely a must see for tourists! 8/21/2002

Chinatown here in this city is the BEST chinatown I've ever been to! They not only have tourist shopping of the chinese culture, but they've got the BEST authentic chinese food! You could go anywhere in China town & have the best chinese food you've ever had! I totally loved it! I walked chinatown as it started to rain (with my boyfriend) because I wanted to experince everything there for as long as I could. it's not the cleanest place (or area to walk around), but if you appreciate the Chinese/Asian Culture, this is a definete must to stop by! They've got the BEST authentic chinese food and are GREAT on souveniers! Much cheaper than Japan Town! more
