Best Dim Sum in Boston 4/15/2006

If you're looking for dim sum, then you've come to the right place. Unfortunately, everyone else knows about it, too, so this place is always horribly packed. However, that just proves that the food's awesome, right? Just point at all the things you want to try. They'll come around on carts. However, you'll probably want to bring someone well versed in dim sum foods. Otherwise, you may get some nasty surprises. Although all the foods are Chinese delicacies, they might not agree with all Western palates. more

Before I left Boston, my friend took me to China Pearl for a final round of dim sum. I loved the atmosphere and the food was exquisite. The best part of dim sum is that you can have as much or as little of something as you like and you can see it before you order. What I remember as well as the food was the waitress becoming upset with my friend as she tried to speak Chinese with him. Although he looks Chinese, he doesn’t speak a word and the staff here seemed to think he ought to have known what they were saying! They took one look at me (not Asian) and handed me a fork! more

Not one of my personal favorites, but still good food 3/30/2006

China Pearl is not one of my favorite restaurants in Chinatown, but they still have good quality and delicious food. They serve Dim Sum on the weekends all day, but it's better to go prime time when it is busy just because the food is more fresh since there's turnover and they keep making new batches of hot food. They don't skimp on portions, every shrimp dumpling is packed with shrimp, the baos are filled with yummy stuffing. Their noodle dishes are cooked fresh and are big. They have quality food here, and it is pretty clean for a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. And, you'll always get a good deal here. more

Dim sum all day .. 3/23/2006

One of the neat things about China Pearl is that it serves Dim Sum all day! However, I feel like if you go on a weekend, or the brunch hours, the dim sum is more fresh. They have the regular shrimp dumplings, meatballs, rice noodles with yummy soy sauce, rice porriage. The dishes are really good. The great thing about dim sum is you can get a bunch of little dishes, and try different dishes for a meal. Plus, it's darn cheap! The other food at China Pearl is OK. I'm not a huge fan, especially since there are better Chinese restaurants for dinner in Chinatown. However, the dim sum is fine. more

Great Chinese Food! 3/18/2006

Located in the heart of Chinatown, China Pearl has been serving the throngs of fans of their Chinese food for years. Definitely try the Dragon and Phoenix entree which is a combination of white chicken meat and jumbo shrimp, sauteed with fresh vegetables in the chef's special sauce. They have excellent dishes like the moo goo gai pan as well. more

Awesome Dim Sum 3/18/2006

I have never had anything besides Dim Sum here but they not only serve it for weekend brunch but they also have it for dinner also. This place is the real deal and as authentic as in Hong Kong, actually some of it is better than I had in Hong Kong. The only down side is as a non-Chinese speaking person it is harder to know what you are getting so if you know anyone that speaks Cantonese take them along or go with someone that knows Dim Sum the first time. But if you are adventurous you can do it on your own and have a great meal. The prices are low so you can experiment. more

This place has one and only one claim to fame, it serves great dim sum. The food here is average other than the dim sum and the prices are resonable. While it is not one of the top notch Chinese reataruantys in the area in my opinion, it still makes good for a quick lunch or dinner. more

Great dimsum 1/14/2006

They offered a great varietis of dim sum. The restaurant space is really huge. they have like 3 stories building. Great selection of dim-sum and very affordable. It is not only the dim sum that is good. You should also try their dinner menu. Which is really good. more

I greatly recommend this Chinese restaurant if you are looking to get a good dim sum at a reasonable price. They have a wide selection of dim sum menu available and If you want to dine in during the weekend, make sure that you come in before 1 pm otherwise you will not get most of the dim sum menu since they would have been finished by then. Highly recommended. more

It's one of the most popular places for dim sum. It's affordable to eat, but waiting in line for a seat in the weekends could be irritating. Most used for Chinese wedding receptions. They have good food. more

Great Chinese Dim Sum 8/16/2005

China Pearl Restaurant is such a famous chinese dim sum restaurant that would attract any people that likes to eat good food to come to Chinatown for a lunch of dim sum. It is great quality food that you would be willing to pay a little more as China Pearl is a little more expensive than the others in Chinatown. It also has just newly renovated its third floor and fourth floor for more spacious rooms. more

Its food is one of the best around, and it has just built a new front door entrance which makes the restaurant to be even better. Best Dim Sum place around Boston 8/9/2005

This place is the best Dim Sum place around chinatown. On weekends, you have to get there quite early because the place is always crowded. The price for Dim Sum might be a tiny bit more than Emperor's Garden, a few streets back, but the majority says the food is better. This place has 3 floors, usually the 2nd and 3rd floors are for caterings and special events. more

This place is one of the most popular Chinese restaurants in Boston, especially for Sunday lunches where everyone comes for dimsum. The dimsum is pushed around the restaurant on carts and customers can pick and choose which dishes they would like. The turnover is pretty fast, and the dimsum is pretty tasty, albeit greasy. more

Great place for dim sum 8/4/2005

It is one of the oldest dim sum restaurant in Boston. Well located in Chinatown the 2 stories restaurant serves traditional dim sum to many Bostonian and visitors. It usually has a long line on Saturday but it is definitely worth it. Place is decent and servers are ok. They also host Chinese style wedding banquet at night too. more

Best Dim Sum in Boston Chinatown 7/14/2005

This restaurant is always packed on the weekend. People line up along the stairwell leading up to where the restaurant is. It has the biggest har gows I have ever seen! This dim sum restaurants attracts all kinds of people, not just chinese. Note, some times the host will ask if you want to share a table with strangers. (That's how they do it in Hong Kong.) You can say no but your wait may be longer. more
