Best

This restaurant is AWESOME!!!! I have been eating there since 1992 and have NEVER had a bad meal. My favorite combination is their spicy mongolian beef with their sweet and sour ...

Worst

This restaurant has mediocre food and service. The Szechuan Chicken is practically void of chicken. The beef cuts are of poor quality. I would recommend P.F. Chang or the Mandarin...

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/13/2016

I love the food here so savory. I always crave for the beef entrees in their menu. So good! more

BEST CHINESE FOOD ANYWHERE BUT THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE,...THE LAST TIME I WENT WAS THE LAST TIME I WILL EVER GO. THEY GOT MY ORDER TOTALLY WRONG, WOULD NOT CHANGE IT AND THEN INSULTED ME TO BOOT! NONE OF THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE WERE FAMILIAR, SO APPARENTLY THEY HAVE CHANGED MANAGEMENT, AND THEY ARE LIKELY TO DRIVE THIS PLACE OUT OF BUSINESS. HEARTBREAKING, CONSIDERING THEY HAVE BEEN A FAMILY FAVORITE FOR YEARS AND YEARS.\r more

Awesome egg drop soup, HORRIBLE customer service. The way they treat their customers makes me want to give up on this place completely. The last couple times the customer service has been so bad I vow to never go back, but their egg drop soup is almost worth dealing with them every once in awhile. more

Fresh, clean, great service and I loved the atmosphere. Chinese restaurants of this kind of quality are hard to find. Keep up the great reputation!!! more

Came back. Won't be back!! 3/16/2011

I had not been in for over a year. Went in with my wife, she ordered sweet and sour while I ordered lemon chicken. once our food arrived we both discovered that there was only enough sweet and sour sauce as well as lemon sauce to barely cover the bottom of the chicken. We also ordered lo mein and ham fried rice which were both very bland. Sadly we drove all the way from Herriman to be totally let down. Maybe we just hit them on a bad night, then again perhaps we didn't. I am just not willing to make the drive again to find out. more

Long Time Favorite - Never Had A Bad Meal 8/12/2010

This restaurant is AWESOME!!!! I have been eating there since 1992 and have NEVER had a bad meal. My favorite combination is their spicy mongolian beef with their sweet and sour chicken! Also don't miss out on their great egg drop soup. Not your normal egg drop soup, but it is fabulous! So glad that with their new building, the atmosphere of their restaurant matches the quality of their food. A great place to eat Chinese - Give it a try! more

Horrible service, bad Manager!!!!!!! 4/13/2010

on 2/13/2010 my sister and I arrived at close to 8pm to have dinner. At 9pm, closing time, my brother in law wanted to come join us for a moment to help my sister get the baby in to her car and leave. We were told that since it was after 9pm he couldn't enter the premises and the Manager was rude with us since we were there after closing. She basically kicked us out saying with a snear that its now nearly 9:20pm. Horrible service....They are more interested in leaving at closing time than being polite to long term customers. I wont be going back. more

GARBAGE ON MY PLATE 10/31/2009

DONT EVER EAT HERE. TASTES LIKE SCONECUTTER WITH CHICKEN. I THINK THEY MARINATE EVERYTHING IN HONEY. 0 OUT OF 5 STARS. SAVE YOURSELF SOME GAS. DONT EAT HERE. EVEN IF YOU LIVE DOWN THE STREET. NOT WORTH IT Pros: NOTHING AT ALL Cons: EVERYTHING more

Amazing food, good prices! 9/16/2009

My favorite Utah restaurant along with Cafe Rio. The Phoenix Chicken is my favorite. I also love the egg rolls, pot-stickers, egg drop soup, chow mein cantonese style, beef & broccoli, and definitely the ham-fried rice. Even my kids love the food here! And the portions are large for a very reasonable price. You have to try it! Pros: great food, good prices, lots of parking, short wait more

Good Chinese in Sandy 9/6/2009

We have been ordering food from here since the early 1990s. It will definitely satisfy your craving for Chinese. Pros: Great sweet and sour Cons: can't think of any more

Best Restuaurant - Period 3/16/2009

We are from South Africa and travel to Europe and the USA once a year. We were blessed to find this restaurant and Chin Wah is without a doubt one of the best restaurants we have ever had the pleasure of eating in - anywhere. \r Food - Delicious\r Service - Friendly, Fast and professional\r Ambiance - Warm and homely\r Will travel to Salt Lake City just to eat there. more

boy has this place went downhill 11/19/2008

i use to go to this reataurant quite a bit when the owner his wife rose and the family was cooking and running it. moved away and came back to a whole new horrible tasting and filthy restaurant. ohhhhhh the good old days. i guess they made there money and left the building. Pros: none left Cons: what happened more

Mediocre is the name! 1/5/2008

This restaurant has mediocre food and service. The Szechuan Chicken is practically void of chicken. The beef cuts are of poor quality. I would recommend P.F. Chang or the Mandarin in Bountiful. more

Horrible Chinese food 11/11/2007

We ordered the Phoenix Chicken as per the recommendations found here. It is disgusting. The chicken used is horrible quality, the sauce lacks any sort of flavor that I enjoy. The restaurant seemed busy and cheaply decorated. The service was not friendly and the food was bland even though we ordered the PC extra spicy. I have to think that the people who gave Chin Wah rave reviews are friends or relatives of the owners as this restaurant was absolutely disgusting. I will never go back and wouldn't recommend you even try it. Pros: Relatively inexpensive Cons: horrible food, bad service, cheap decor more

Without any doubt the Best in Utah!! 8/18/2007

Having become a connoisseur of fine Asian food over the years, I would say that, WITHOUT ANY QUESTION WHATSOEVER, the Chin Wah in Sandy, Utah is the best Chinese food in the entire state of Utah!! Those on here who say that the food at Chin Wah does not resemble Chinese food plain and simply DO NOT know what they're talking about! Everything on the menu that I've tried at Chin Wah is ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS and reasonably priced! The servings that they give you are also more than most people can eat in one sitting. A HUGE thumbs up to the Chin Wah!!!! Pros: Everything about the Chin Wah is positive! more

One of the best restaurants out there!!!! 8/12/2007

Great food, great service, and great price. My and my family have been going for years and we love the food. I highly recommend the Phoenix Chicken and Chicken and Broccoli with Cantonese style noodles. The best!! Pros: Great food, great price Cons: The only con is that there is not a location closer to me. more

Good Service, Bad Food, If you are looking for Chinese Food look somewhere else, food is expensive for a chinese restaurant, taste of food does not remotely resemble chinese food. 1/19/2007

Tasted the ""Infamous Phoenix Chicken"" is not worth it, Fried rice with pork was below average, taste of food in general was extremely poor. Pros: Service was good Cons: The name is the only chinese flavor you get, expensive more

Worst Chinese Food we ever had 10/8/2006

This is awful, simply awful ""chinese"" food. If you want lots of MSG and faux chinese, eat here. The food was so dreadful we were laughing. It was a very low calorie meal, since we only had a few bites. more

Terrible service, rude manager 8/30/2006

Basically, avoid this place. The service was bad, especially thought the manager Tiffany was rude and condescending. I'll never go to this place again. And the food is overrated. more
