Wonderful "Hands On" Museum 12/22/2005

My children really love the Children's Museum! It is a wonderful "hands on" museum that promotes learning through experimenting and playing. They offer all kinds of inovative hands-on exhibits in science and technology, history and culture, health and human development, and the arts. Thursday is family night. It's free admission for everyone from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. It's great place for families of all ages! more

fun outing! 11/29/2005

This is one of my favorite museums in Houston. There is always something in here that you probably would not have imagined before. It is a really great experience. They also have a really fun gift shop. I had lived in houston for about two years before venturing out to this museum and I am so sorry I waited that long. Go go go! It is such a neat space which really complements the art. Be sure to go downstairs and don't miss the shop and a whole other display area. more

Great for people other than kids too! 11/18/2005

I really like the Children's Museum of Houston. It is a wonderful museum that provides hands on learning for children of all ages. It's great for families to come together because it's encouraged. Children are encouraged to learn through experimenting and playing. They have really nice galleries and on each floor is a staff to help out their customers. They really know their stuff and are willing to happily help. It also doesn't cost a lot to come here. So it's also great for school field trips. more

great outing 10/23/2005

i take my niece here quite a bit.i thought she might get tired of going but so far she has not. there are so many things for her to do and i get caught up in it also. it gets crowed on weekends though but that does not stop us. we spend hours here everytime we go. it is very much worth the admission and parking has never been a problem for us. more

Fascinating Even For an Adult 9/19/2005

My children and I were blown away by this treasure! There are so many different exhibits that I could never begin to tell you of them all. They have the Tot Area which is great for the little ones to have a safe place to play and learn to explore and experiment. The loads of educational toys gives even the tiniest of visitors much needed stimulation. Not only is every bit of it educational, every bit of it is fun and presented in a way that makes kids actually be interested. It is extremely hands on and I even learned a few things while visiting! You can't beat this place for the price! more

It's Free On Thursday Evenings 9/11/2005

If you have a child between the ages of six months and eight years, they will love it. Older children will like it also, but not as much as the younger children. If your child is six months to two years there is an area for them and their parents only. Everything in this area is age appropriate and sanitized after each child's use. No uncovered shoes are allowed. This helps keep down the spread of germs. . The two to four year olds will love the super market , The play area and house outside is also a hit. For the school age children there are lots of hands on activities, TV stations to run, and other countries to visit. Make sure you don't tell them that they are learning anything. Thursday evenings after five is family night, and it's free. more

A Great Family Treat 8/23/2005

I love the Children's museum. I take the kids there on the weekends to get a little culture & education in their lives, not to mention they have a great time. They have all types of games, and interesting engaging activities for kids. These activities and exhibits include cultures from around the world. The diversity is amazing. It is educational for parents as well. They have family nights on Thursday, where it is free for everyone. Located near the Medical center and very kid friendly. more

Thursdays Rule! 8/21/2005

What a wonderful museum for kids and parents to learn about the earth that they live on. I remember when I used to go here, that I would play around with their car and velocity exhibit and with the news and movie production exhibit. The fun that is produced in the children just from learning shall make you smile. I still believe that on Thursdays kids get in free or for a minimal cost. more

Fun 8/20/2005

This place is so much fun. It's also fun for adults. They usually set up different ways to teach your kids. It's a fun way of learning. Great place to go on a class field trip. The price to get in is moderate. The ambience is for lots of little children because it is very colorful. Lots of fun workshops for kids. You can also take your kids here during Halloween. more

Worth the trip! 8/19/2005

Looking for a special place to bring the kids this afternoon? Well, look no further than the Children's Museum. My one year old nephew loves to go there for the story time and for discovering all the new development toys they have. We are planing to go back soon. This is worth every penny spent to it. Recommended. more

Great place to bring the kids 8/11/2005

The Children's Museum of Houston is a great place to bring the kids for the day. There are so many activities that kids, younger and older, will not know where to begin. There is a section of the museum set up as a farmers market where children can act as cashiers. There is a place where children can sit at an anchor desk and see themselves on television. The location is great and parking is usually available on the street. I believe this museum was voted one of the best children's museum in the country. more

a great place to take the kids 8/10/2005

this place will explore your childs imagination like no other thing has done before. there they will find slides and other cool things that they can do while learning something. kids have a great time there especially when they have a special exhibits that lets your childs mind stretch even further beyond their imagination. prices are cheap and the staff acts like they actually care. more

What a wonderful experience for kids! 7/31/2005

The Children's Museum of Houston was absolutely GREAT! Our kids ran around for hours and never ran out of things to do or new things to explore. We were amazed how many things were applicable to our toddlers. There is a special area just for toddlers that had them running and laughing hysterically. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. It was surprisingly clean considering the number of children that are there. Security is obviously something they are very concerned about as well. All adults must be accompanied by a child, or must register at the front desk. There are many educational and fun exhibits that appeal to children of all ages (including the grown-up kids!). more

Entertainment for hours! 7/24/2005

One of my kids favorite places is this museum. They never get tired of it and we go quite often. We never have enough time to see everything, and every time we go it seems there is something new. It can become crowded especially on weekends, but we usually try to stick to the weekdays, and then there is less of a problem. It beats other outside activities any day! more

Perfect!! 7/23/2005

This is perfect for a family outing! They have tons of stuff for the little kids, like a car and cool exhibits. Even though the museum is geared towards children, I never fail to have a bad time there. The place is awesome, even for adults. Admission is surprisingly cheap and could even be free with some coupons that the museum occasionally puts out or other organizations. If you're looking for a nice place to go with the family, look no further. This place is the ultimate family outing and is guaranteed to keep not only children, but adults entertained as well. If you ever have a day off, you must go here. Located in the museum district, this museum is a landmark of Houston and a must go to. more

Inexpensive and fun 6/20/2005

This children's museum has so many fun things to do. It's very easy to spend an entire day here. The tickets are pretty cheap and, if you have a large family or tight budget, they hold a "free" night once a week for specific hours. Every time we go, my son and nieces get soaked from playing in the outdoor pond. It's so cute to watch all of the children playing with the boats and buckets. Indoors they have a fake grocery store with registers. This is definitely a good place to go to have a child's party or just to enjoy time with your kids. more
