I brought in a pair of jeans to have hemmed keeping the original hem intact. I like supporting local, family owned business and after reading all the other positive reviews on here, I was pretty confident that they'd hook me up. The work was fine, but the service was awful. I brought my jeans in on Monday and was told they'd be done after 4pm on Wednesday. Wednesday rolled around and I stopped in, only to find that the woman behind the counter couldn't find my order. I waited for about 10 minutes while she searched all the racks. She told me that things sometimes get misplaced because other members of her family don't understand how to keep things alphabetically. Being from an Asian immigrant family myself, I was sympathetic and just told them to call me when they located my order. When they called on Thursday, it was to tell me that the way they had measured the hem was uneven (short in the front, and longer in the back). I told them that it looked fine when I dropped them of and to go ahead with whatever they had measured, rather than risk having them cut the jeans too short. They called me back afterhours on Friday to tell me they had finished my order and that it could be picked up on Saturday. When I stopped in Saturday, the jeans looked fine when I tried them on, and I mentioned that it took them more than double the amount of time they had promised. I was hoping for at least an apology for the time spent and the fact that they had lost my order. The woman told me that because the hem was uneven, it took them longer than expected, and I replied by saying that they could have called me on Tuesday or even Wednesday to let me know and save me the trip into their shop, when clearly they didn't start working on my order until Thursday. She repeated that the hem was uneven. I wasn't the one responsible for measuring or pinning the hem that way, nor did I ask for the hem to be measured or pinned that way, but I didn't want to argue with her. This is the place to go. I brought a very old camel hair coat in that had weird black stains all over it that someone threw out. They all came out and the coat looked beautiful. Then I decided that I wanted to add a button to the top. Apparently because of the way the coat was made the whole thing needed to be taken a part just to make the buttonhole look like the others. It looks fabulous. The buttonhole looks perfect and it's wearable again. Pros: expert service, quick, friendly more

I have brought two pairs of pants to be tailored at CHI and have not been disappointed. The first pair was a beautiful pair of khakis from BR with a very classy notch at the bottom. They needed to be shortened by several inches and I asked her to keep the original seam at the bottom. Now they fit lengthwise and have the original gorgeous notch that made the pants so beautiful in the first place. I also brought in a pair of jeans to be shortened. You know how when you first buy jeans the seam at the bottom is very gently worn? I didn't want to lose that look and have them look butchered, so I asked her to keep the original seam on the jeans, too. I just got them back and am wearing them today, and they look fantastic - they fit me on the leg but they don't look like the ends have just been lopped off. Chi not only does expert alterations and quick fixes, but does them at an incredibly reasonable price. Dry-cleaning always has a fast turnaround, and is always ready precisely when they promise it. Their tailoring services are wonderful, and I love that they're open until 7 pm on weekdays. Highly, highly recommended! more

I called around the city hoping to find a place that could alter my pants the next day - it was 6pm. Many places said sorry but they were closing or didn't offer next day service. I called Chi's...the woman was so friendly and said ""Oh it sounds like you are in a rush, I can do it, bring your pants."" She was so friendly and altered my pants right away - it took less than 20 minutes. I also brought four other pairs and one pair of pants for dry cleaning. She said these would be done by Thursday! Not only was this fast, quality service but also Chi was so friendly! I will bring all my service to her from now on. Pros: inexpensive, great service, good parking more
