I went there because I was interested in an apartment near the inner loop and I wanted somewhere luxurious. Not only is the front staff rude, but the apartments are not high quality. I went on a tour and there is a lot that these folks are covering up. The appliances in the partment are old and the same type you would find at a regular apartment. The carpet is cheap looking and the counters are made out of some bad plastic material. True luxury apartments have granite countertops, wood floors, stainless steel. This place does not offer any of that. more

I am signing a lease for my fourth year at Cheval Apartments. Having spent a LOT of time looking at area apartments each time my lease is up for renewal (I always want to see if there is a beter deal out there!), I continually come back. \r \r The complex has a lot to offer and you should definitely check out their website for pictures and more details.\r \r Curb appeal - Every time someone visits me they comment on how impressed they are with the apartment. The grounds are kept up and the overall ""look"" of the complex is awesome. \r \r Amenities - Starbucks coffee, computer/printer/fax availability, movie rentals, dry cleaning pickup/dropoff, library, pool table, shuffleboard, foosball, putting green. All FREE.\r \r Spa on site - a massage therapist comes to the property for personal massages (cheap), There is also free tanning booths, and a great gym and yoga/pilates studio.\r \r Pool - infinity pool and a lap pool with lots of space to hang out and BBQ. There is a volleyball court and jacuzzi, too.\r \r Location - located at 10W and 610W. 1960, 45, 59 and 288 are really easy to get to.\r \r Staff - always pleasant and smiling. They have treated me as an individual, not just a tenant. They have also been sponsoring tenant ""parties"" (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Halloween, summer) with free food, beverages and prizes (like rent discounts!). They have also responded to any complaints or maintenance requests quickly.\r \r Extras - there are a bunch of little things that appeal to me, like slate backsplashes, crown molding, attractive hardware (faucets, door handles, etc), built in winerack and computer desk/shelves, great lighting fixtures, side-by-side fridge/freezer with ice and water dispenser, washers/dryers, secure parking garage, outdoor fireplace and TV, pet friendly,etc.\r \r Negatives? - Required to pay for valet trash. Most of the amenities are unavailable after 9pm. Price is high (but value is good).\r \r At the very least, I recommend investing an hour to stop in for a viewing. Screwed Out Of My Deposit... 2/13/2008

When I filled out the application and paid $505 in deposits, I asked how much would be refunded if I ultimately did not follow through with the rental. I was told by TWO separate employees (2 of the bimbo girls working the front desk) that I would receive $300 back.\r \r Subsequently, when I informed them that I had decided not to rent their because many of the tenants had told me about crime problems, they said I would forfeit 100% of the deposit and lied to me about having ever indicated otherwise.\r \r To prospective tenants - BEWARE - don't let the fact that the bimbos at the front are nice to you distract you from the fact that they will perpetrate a fraud to steal your money. Cons: The employees stole my money. more
