Chinese Deli Take-Out 1/29/2006

This place is one of few where you always find a queue for the take out food after work. The roast duck is tasty and salty, but pricey at almost $10/duck. The roast pork has a nice, crispy skin, about $6/lb. You can buy lean or fatty cuts. There's chunks of BBQ pork and organs hanging from the window and whole boiled chicken. Inside are bins of cooked food to bring home in take-out cartons. Great for dinner if you're not in the mood to cook except the rice to go w/the food. There's about 3 tables and not a favorable place to eat-in because of the crowds breathing down on you and staring at your plate to see what you're having. The butcher will chop up your duck, chicken or pork on the wood chopping block or you can take home whole & chop it yourself. Pros: quick, good roast pork, take out food Cons: lines after work, parking more

best roast duck & congee 1/29/2006

if you want some good food quickly and with no hassle, you need to try cheung hing. i don't recommend eating there (as it's a tiny hole in the wall like most brilliant restaurants are), but it's well worth the afterwork line out the door. if you're not too keen on your cantonese, i'd also order the roast duck whole, to ensure that you don't just end up with skin and bones... literally. well worth the price difference. the roast pork is good, too. and then there's the rest of the menu: your satisfying soup/jook fare, the diced chicken & salty fish fried rice, and the salt & pepper squid... yum. i love this little neighborhood spot! Pros: good food, fast service, cheap eats Cons: cash only, parking, claustro-inducing more

The Best Cheung Hing 10/20/2004

If you want service and pampering don't even stop here, go to some pansy Asian fusion bistro. If you want real (limited menu) basic Chinese style food, at low prices then make a stop here. Their various steamed chicken plates are really good. This only applies to this location, the other locations are not nearly as good. EXCELLENT place to get food for parties, large trays of fried chicken, THE BEST string beans with roast pork, etc. Pros: food, prices, excellent party trays Cons: , no ambiance, lines of people more
