Horrible service 7/7/2016

You get what you pay for here. Low prices. Undercooked meat, dinner rolls served cold on the outside and frozen on the inside. Minimum amount of patrons yet extremely long wait for dinner. Waitress acts as if your presence is a bother to them. Restroom a mess. Better off at McDonals or Bueger King. more

Good Food but.... 8/11/2005

Cherry's Diner is bigger than what it seems from the outside. There is a large room in the back. Though, if you're less than 3 they will usually seat you in the front room, which is almost train-car like. It's nice and cozy. There service at Cherry's needs some work. Every time we've been there it seems like there's more than one server for our table. It gets confusing for us, and them. I had been told at times "oh the other waitress said you wanted this..." , then I'd have to explain my order again. Well, that wouldn't happen if there was one server for the table. Odd. The food is very decent, though not spectacular. I would never order clams casino at a diner... but my boyfriend did one time and they were surprising good! The topping was light with just enough crisp, and the clams seems very fresh. The veal marsala is good for a diner, but the sauce is too much like gravy. Too heavy for the veal. But, the veal is very tender, very nicely done! I've eaten at much higher end restaurants that over cook the veal. Breakfasts are very good. Large portions and very tasty! Lunches are good to average. This diner is close to where I live so I do go there fairly often. But, I have to admit I will only go to dinner there with some kind of coupon as this restaurant is not cheap. If you order appetizer/soup, entree and dessert, with a drink (not alcoholic.. just a coke) for two.. it would be over $50 after the tip. Very high for a diner! I use a coupon that will usually save me $20 or a bit more on the total bill. Now for breakfast or lunch it's about average in price if you're not ordering all the extras. I would recommend this restaurant if you're getting breakfast or lunch. But if you're having dinner, don't go without a coupon. Though the food isn't bad, it's not worth the high price. more
