I can only assume there is a concerted smear campaign going on here since this is the second time I've used these guys (1st time in our new house) and they rocked it, my carpets look awesome. Worried about ""bait and switch"" or being overcharged, I can tell you not to be- they were reasonably priced and the estimate was what I was charged. Get 3 quotes and then compare if you're worried about it. I will be using them again and I will be recommending them for SURE! more

We were quoted $110 for two rooms and a hall. When the tech arrived he told us it would be $170 plus. We complained that we were quoted $110 and he responded that he would then have to use the lower quality cleaning mixture. We complained further and he finally agreed to do the job. The carpets weren't cleaned very well. Overall it felt like the old ""bait & switch"" to us. I suggest using someone, we will not use them again. more

The 5-room special for $129 ended up being nearly $500 because I asked for pet treatment. They very conveniently did not have their black light to know where to apply solution so put a lighter coat over the entire area, which only made the odor worse. When I called to complain, they sent the guy back out who then had the black light with him and said I would need to spend another $300 to treat the area correctly. There is no way I would have had them come in the first place if I had known it would be $800. They are a total rip off. Wish I had read these reviews before using their services. more

I am still trying to figure out what exactly happened, but I know that my grandmother had a coupon from this company for 5 rooms at $129. When they got there the company said it would be $750 to do the whole house. The house is not that big. My grandfather said they could not afford that so the guy told him they would clean just the hallways (there are 2 short ones) with an enzyme solution to get out pet stains. It cost them $540!!! They were charged for 4 gallons of pet enzyme cleaner at $85 a piece for 22ft of hallway. My grandparents are non-confrontational so they agreed. They were completely ripped off. I had the same treatment done on my entire house which is twice the size for $400. We are trying to contact the company to have them make it right. Do not expect the coupon rate.\r \r Follow up: My uncle contacted the company and spoke with the owner. The owner said that since my grandfather agreed to the price that it was fair. He then threatened my uncle with a liable lawsuit and threatened to call the police for harassment. We are going to the BBB now and looking into an Advocate for the elderly who might be able to help resolve the issue. Cons: questionable business practices more

They sent a teenager with a cocky attitude who eye-balled the rooms and told me he would not honor the coupon price of 5 rooms for $129 and he refused to clean anything unless I agreed to pay $399. He told me he was giving me a good deal by charging for ""extras"" that were totally unnecessary. He refused to take off the ""extras"" or to clean any room unless I paid the full price. Look out - this is a classic ""bait and switch"" a deceptive trade practice. I would give no stars if the site would allow as I got no service. I just recently had my carpets cleaned by Chem Dry by the Millers, and WOW it looks brand new. I had a party and one person got sick and someone else spilled a glass of red wine. I thought my carpets were ruined, but they took care of my problems. I will recomend Chem Dry by the Millers to all my friends and family. Beware: 1) of the high pressure sales pitch that tries to sell you more service than you can afford, because their reputation is at stake & could not put their name on the job unless done a certain way; 2) the messy-looking invoice which makes the actual quote very ambiguous; 3) the overly friendly assistant who distracts you while the other guy does the cleaning so you are not sure exactly WHAT he is doing, like moving the dirty dishes in your kitchen sink aside so he can get water for the machine; 4) again the messy-looking invoice which makes the actual charge very ambiguous; 5) voicing your questions, concerns or disagreements about the actual services requested & the actual charge because you might have your character attacked & get threatened with a libel law suit. This was the most unprofessional manager of any company I have ever dealt with---TOTALLY unwilling to listen to me & work out an equitable solution to my complaints. I have reported my experience to the Chem-Dry corporation as they should be aware when a franchise holder is not representing their company in the most professional way. They were glad to hear from me. If you insist on the Chem-dry carpet cleaning process, check out some other franchise owner. Maybe they will be more professional and customer friendly. quality of service is less than par. I feel carpet is dirtier after the cleaning. Rags used were worn out and dirty, Stair steps were cleaned by scrubbing with a dirty rag by hands. It is smelly and dirty now. I would not recommend or use them again. Pros: prompt Cons: gotch you!!! more

Stain on one side of couch cushion and they cleaned all six sides with a solution discloroed entire cushion. Couch has three cushions total and one is an odd color now. The owner / manager won't take responsibility for their mistake. I will tell everyone I know not to even consider using this carpet upholstery service. I don't know what the negative reviewer experienced, but I experienced the best service I have ever seen from a carpet cleaner. Perhaps she was having a bad day. They were very professional and were very knowledgeable. I had urine treated where another cleaner was uncessful at getting rid of our odor. They completely removed any odor we had!! I did have a tackiness problem, but they were quick to respond when I called and left a message, and they came out the very next day and fixed the problem with no questions asked!! These people will leave your carpets soaking wet, charge you more than they told you, then harrass you if you complain. The positive reviews must have been left by members of the family/company itself-note how they were left on the same date. They bragged to me that they are the ""number one carpet cleaning franchise."" Hmm, if I were going to chose a franchise to buy, what would be the biggest factor? PROFITS! more

Requested service from ChemDry based on a coupon received in the mail for 5 rooms for $129.99 with the understanding that price would be higher for an additional hall and two pet stains. When I received the estimate, including the stains, I was told over $600!!!! I told the technician to do the basic cleaning as provided by the coupon plus the hall for an extra $24. I can't imagine any stain costing $400. Could get new carpet for that price! Will not be using this company again. more

I thought I was going to have to replace my carpets. My two Irish wolf hounds and Chihuahua got loose while we were on vacation and made a mess. There was urine, feces, and some other unknowns, you name it, it was there. I decided to give it one shot with a professional cleaner to see if I could save it. Chem-Dry by the Millers saved me thousands! Thank God I picked them over other cleaners. Other cleaners I talked to said they could not do much, But Carey over at Chem-Dry by the Millers was the only cleaner who said they did have an effective treatment, so I decided to give them a try. They got all of the urine smell out, the stains are almost all gone and we learned a valuable lesson. I have never had better service and results out of any cleaner. Well worth the price!! I couldn't believe the results! I had several stains that have been there for over 10 years and have had 5 different cleaners attempt to get them out. Chem-Dry by the Millers got them out! They offer a supreme level service, which I highly reccomend. It costs a little extra but is well worth it. They even got out stains other Chem-Dry's did not and didn't even offer to get out. I am still shell shocked over the price of having our carpets cleaned by Chem-Dry by the Millers. I received an estimate over the phone after I explained to them we needed five rooms cleaned. The estimate was for $230-$250. Fine, we can handle that. I failed to mention a closet in our spare bedroom that needed to be done as well. This is where we keep the litter box for two cats. Granted, it was ""heavily soiled"" and stunk. We have lived here for three years. No kids. Brand new house, brand new berber carpet. When the technician arrived I informed him of the closet. He wrote up his estimate and came back with a price of $638! I nearly fell to my knees and keeled over! WHAT! We have a 1785 sq. ft. house, no stairs, just one story. I was completely BLOWN AWAY! After going back and forth with the technician, I asked if I could speak with a manager. I spoke with a woman named Kerry and she was no help whatsoever. The technician re-configured his estimate to $373. Regretably, I agreed. I feel I was totally taken advantage of. Of course, they said I didn't have to agree to anything and they could leave. I re-arranged my schedule and my house to get this done on this particular day. While they were inside working I went outside to get some air and noticed that the inside of their truck, equipment, cords, hoses, etc. were FILTHY FILTHY DIRTY! My sole reason for choosing Chem-Dry was because of the drying time, and their claim of it being a ""dry clean"" of sorts. Well, five hours later and I still can't go into some rooms because it's too wet! more
