I bought my Honda Accord from Checkered flag--and in that respect, I feel I got a deal. Used, etc. Beautiful.
Shortly after the purchase, I was deployed for a couple months. When I returned to VB I started having a few issues with the car, but I was within my 3 month warranty window so I took it in to the Checkered Flag service department. I assumed they were Honda specialists so they would know what they were doing. WRONG.
They took her for about a week, said they fixed her and so I believed them. Went out to sea for a few more weeks, and when I came back, the car was having the SAME problems. Because I was no longer in the "window" I had to pay.. and after I paid, it STILL had problems.
I discovered the reoccuring problems halfway across the country, on an orders move. I called and spoke to Dave, the manager of the shop... I was so MAD. I told him that I wanted a refund for the work they did.. or lack of. He said they couldn't do it. He said I'd have to bring it back (FROM FOUR STATES AWAY) and they'd look at it again WITH CHARGE! (BTW, the problem was brakes. You might think I'm an idiot, but I know nothing about cars, and they took advantage of that... they charged me over $300 for a 'break kit' that they used to bleed the breaks when the problem, I found out when I took it to a local mechanic at home, was a faulty master cylinder. My mechanic said, "Any good mechanic would have pinpointed the master cylinder as his first hunch. They just wanted to rip you off." The second problem? Cruise control didn't work. They gave her a quick-fix because it worked for a while, then it stopped again. Over the phone, DAVE said that it would cost another $300 bucks for a new 'computer', on top of the 80 I already paid for their 'repair')
I tried to re-explain the problem, thinking maybe he didn't understand that I had already given them $400 bucks for NOTHING. That he would be sympathetic and offer me a free oil change--SOMETHING.. but I got nothing. He let me talk and then said, "Are you finished? Once again, there's nothing I can do."
I was like, "No, actually let me talk to YOUR manager."
He left me on hold for almost a 1/2 hour. Every time I tried to call back after that, the manager wasn't in. I wrote emails but got nothing back. I felt that, if I was male, I would have been treated differently. Screw Checkered flag.
