Great Fun for a Local Zoo! 12/6/2005

Don't make any mistake-this is not Zoo Atlanta, but a small, local Zoo. It is convenient and easy to get to on a daily basis-so you can decide to go in the morning and just take off for a couple of hours of fun without commiting an entire day to it! The children will never miss the size of a big city zoo, and mine seem to like it better because they don't get as tired. They offer lots of activities for birthdays and play groups which make it even more exciting for the little ones! more

Not huge, but fun 8/22/2005

My kids liked the chimps as well as the petting zoo where they fed the goats. They really like the camel at the petting zoo. There was a concession stand with cold drinks and shaded paths to walk on. Which really helps on a hot day. The only problem I had was some of the area's aren't marked clearly and the entrance is a little hard to find. Overall we had a really good time. The price isn't too bad either 6.00 for adults 3.00 for kids 3-15 under 3 is free and seniors 4.00. more

Fun for all ages 8/18/2005

The last time I went to the zoo was October for boo in the zoo. They had costume competitions for all ages of kids and zoo employees handing out candy. They also had many fun crafts to do. The zoo is a perfect size for toddlers so they are not walking so long. Our daughter loved it. They also have free Wednesdays. I have not yet been there for that but apparently on wed, the kids gets in for free. Call them for details first just in case something has changed. more

Love animals 8/18/2005

The Warner Park Zoo is a great place for a family outing. The kids can see lots of different types of animals and learn about them. You can pet the goats and feed several of the different animals. A must see is Hank, the beloved chimpanzee. Great for play groups. Also offers tours and birthday parties. more

Small zoo, good for young children 7/28/2005

The Chattanooga zoo is by far the smallest zoo that I've ever been to, but they do a lot to make it a fun place for children and families. You will not see all the animals that you do at a big city zoo, but they do have some monkeys, a jaguar, lots of birds, and a petting zoo with sheep, goats a potbellied pig and other animals. The zoo also has several special events throughout the year that are worth going to. Admission is also pretty inexpensive, so you can take the whole family without going broke. The zoo is located within Warner Park, and can be a bit tricky to locate, but just follow the signs once you enter the park and you'll come across it eventually. Parking is free and you're welcome to bring strollers into the zoo. All in all, it's a fun place to take the kids for an afternoon. more
