One of my friends recommended me this sushi place, so she brought me here Saturday night, and I feel like I wanted to write this review and recommend this to everyone else too. Th...

Below average dining event. As always, even though there were plenty of tables in the restaurant, we sat at the bar - first, bad idea. We sat down to an abrupt "are you going to...

Good Suishi! 8/7/2005

The first time I went to Ma Soba, I didn't even see the place. It blends in with the rest of the buildings in the area. Supposedly there is validated parking across the street at the Holiday Inn. The two times I went there, I ended up being able to find street parking. The place is lovely and has a nice setup. During cooler days they tend to open all the windows. We were told Ma Soba had one of the best suishi in the area. The suishi was great. I also loved the crunchy shrimp roll. Service was great. The staff was nice. I've been there twice already. It is a tad pricey. Both times I went, the bill was around $50-$80 for two people with appetizers, Edamame and Seaweed salad, two entrees/combos, and a roll or two) . more

Editorial

  • In Short
Area residents and nearby hospital workers fill Ma Soba's airy, multi-tiered dining room to satisfy their sushi hankerings. While the restaurant offers above-average interpretations of familiar Asian favorites (cloyingly sweet pad Thai, savory Bulgogi), it stands out for its innovative sushi offerings. Around 50 different rolls are available, including offbeat varieties like the "disco shrimp" (baked shrimp and scallop atop spicy crab) and "ninja" (albacore tempura, crab and avocado).
