GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!? - ? unless you want to experience unbelievable rudeness and hostility. After reading many similar negative reviews, I felt encouraged to share my experience. I agree with chocola. I have used Cesar's for 25 years. The fact that I was such a long time customer made no difference. Cesar Andrade was a lovely person, however, his manequin-like son Edward (current owner) is a mean, hostile, arrogant jerk. I have always found him argumentative and condescending. The ""yes, ma'am"" behavior is just an attempt to conceal the contempt that he actually feels for his customers. In this down economy, I had noticed dramatic increases in prices, turnaround time, and ugly behavior by the owner. I continued to use them because they do a decent repair and because of the long history as a customer. In November, I took 2 pairs of boots in for repair. It took over a week and when I went in to pick them up early (not noticing that the pick-up time was several hours later), rather than checking to see if my boots were done, the owner started to argue with me and told me to come back later. He chose to escalate the situation and starting calling me ""demanding"" and ""a difficult customer"". When I told him that that could not be any further from the truth, he replied that I always want my work done quickly and I am always so picky. Isn't that what he is getting paid for? If one can't communicate and articulate their needs, how else can the merchant meet those needs? He continued yelling at me and told me to leave and never come back. He also said ""There are other shoe repairs in the neighborhood. You can go somewhere else."" He is right. I will go somewhere else and I would encourage others to do the same. I have also used Arte's on 8th Ave. and 22nd St. The quality of their work is just as good and they are far more customer service oriented. Let the delusional Edward Andrade think of himself as ""shoe repair to the stars"" until he has chased the last customer from his business. As a nurse, I know about stress. If he can't handle the ""pressure of work"", then maybe he shouldn't be in business. Oh, PLEASE. It's not saving lives, it's only shoe repair.
