Central Park Oral Surgery

I went to Dr. Mark's office referred by a close friend. I had a very impacted wisdom tooth and Dr. Mark suggested that it needed to be removed immediately. The whole procedure was very fast and painless and in a week I had recovered completely. Dr. Mark is a great doctor and a very talented surgeon. He was able to calm my nervousness and all of his assistants are very kind and friendly. I'm bringing to his office my mother who needs dental implants. more

1. They are so ridiculously aggressive about getting the name of the dentist who referred you, that I'm nearly convinced they pay for referrals. I called here a few times to set up an appointment and the receptionists wouldn't answer my questions about which insurance they take before I gave them the name of my referring dentist! What the hell? There's no need to be so aggressive about it. 2. Receptionists are RUDE. First time I called, I explained I need a consultation about an implant I have and the receptionist, apparently in reaction to my young voice, said: 'You ALREADY have implants?!" Wow, that's a great attitude for an employee of an expensive oral surgery office. Judgmental much? People have accidents, you know. I almost decided not to come here after this conversation. 3. They refuse to bill insurance for anything and require you to pay upfront. I read a few reviews about this practice at this place, on other websites. Seems that they try to do it because they can pretty much give you whatever price they want but if they had to bill insurance, even for a procedure that's not covered under your plan, they could only bill the negotiated amount, which may well be lower than what they ask you to pay upfront. 4. I got the $400 scan and it turned out all that was needed was a relatively simple 20 min procedure. I asked the doc how much it would cost and he scratched his head and just threw a number: "Another 400!" He totally pulled it out of his a**. 5. I asked if I could get a copy of the fancy scan for my records and I was told "No problem, just ask for it at the front desk." I called a few days later to ask for it and was told it would be another $50. Even if printing a scan costs something, I suspect this is how they discourage you from taking your business elsewhere. All in all, the quality of work they did on me (a simple procedure) was good. If you have a lot of money to blow and don't mind crappy customer service, go for it. But I will not be back. I know oral surgery can be very expensive, but I'd rather pay so much somewhere where I'm respected. I have been to Central Park Oral Surgery 3 times over the past 10 years to have teeth extracted by Dr. Andrei Mark, D.D.S. I am quite blown away by what an excellent and professional oral surgeon he is!!! This last time (which was about 2 weeks ago), I had a wisdom tooth that needed to be removed because it was causing my gum to be inflamed and my jaw to be swollen. I was able to get a SAME DAY appointment for a consultation and when Dr. Mark saw my mouth, he gave me the option of having the tooth pulled that very day (to which I agreed). Dr. Mark is HIGHLY competent and very personable with a peaceful and comforting manner and sense of humor that makes the whole experience much less scary and stressful! I recommend him unreservedly. The staff at Central Park Oral Surgery is also to be commended for their friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism. Pros: Dr. Mark is top-notch in his profession!! Cons: None. more

I love Jovina & Dr. Mark! When I had a major dental issue they made sure I was able to to afford my procedure, since I don't have insurance. The administrative staff at this office is completely unprofessional: - The office tried charging me $300 out-of-pocket for an x-ray I never agreed to and when I refused to pay, they tried bargaining for a partial payment - The office administrators Patricia and Jervina never once returned one of my phone calls - I was never provided a copy of my bill at the time of visit and they never mailed it to me when I requested one - I asked 3 times before having my wisdom teeth removed what the total would be but they would not provide one. Despite having insurance, I had to pay over $1300 out-of-pocket at time of surgery. - I was overcharged for my surgery, I got a $40 refund 4 months later with no explanation more

When I started with Dr. Mark, I was a nervous wreck. Before working on me he and the staff had to calm me down each and every time. I would wake up in the morning realize it was dental day and my problems would begin. The staff in his office should be saints for what they had endure when I visited. They were always smiling and encouraging me, even when I cried. I was afraid of pain, the sound of the instruments, and just being in the office. There is no pain, the instruments are noisy, and I am learning to like being there. I am a lot better now and I think it was the Office and staff of Dr. Mark. My upper implants are complete and the lower will be finished soon. If you are afraid and embarrassed about it, this is the place for you. GREAT PLACE!!!!!!! GREAT WORK!!!!!! It's been more than a year since Dr. Andrei Mark successfully completed my treatment started in Aug. 2005. I got a full mouth of implants capped with nice bridges (except for the five bottom teeth). My life began to positively change from my first meeting with Dr. Mark. He gave me hope and reasonable price for such extensive work. Before, I felt old and miserable, a woman with dentures, crying every night. After two surgeries, healing time and bridges adjustments I am a happy person. I eat, travel, exercise, and socialize with no problems. This is so wonderful! Thanks to Dr. Mark. I was so lucky that I found you. You are the best! If you wear a denture, don't hesitate to go for implants. They are like your teeth. I did a lot of research before having them. I went to many dentists for consultations, they offered different solutions, high prices, some do implants and not teeth, Dr. Mark gave me the best solution and the best price. Dr. Mark's office is unique and provides with both implants and teeth. You won't need a surgeon and a dentist, and you will remain his patient after the treatment is complete. If you want my advice. Get rid of your denture. Go for implants. Don't look elsewhere. Go to Dr. Andrei Mark. Your life will look up! Pros: He is the best. Cons: none at all more

I had several implants put in, Dr. Mark was very professional, there was no pain involved, he is a great oral surgeon and he has a great staff. Pros: Dr. mark is down to earth, and actually makes your experience a positive one Cons: none more

Nobody likes to have a tooth pulled but if you have to Dr. Mark is a great dental surgeon to go to. His office staff is professional and quite helpful. Dr. Mark himself is very competent and can put your mind at ease. The follow up calls they make to see how you're doing is a great added touch. It's nice to know that it's not out of sight, out of mind, with them. He comes highly recommended by area dentists. He is their choice when sending their patients on to a specialist.
