This is one of the better restaurants on Alki. Not just another trendy place relying on the beautiful and fun location of Alki. They actually have good food that is reasonably priced, a friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. more

Irish breakfast 6/19/2006

What people may not know about the Celtic Swell is that they also serve breakfast. If you are headed down to Alki for a weekend morning stroll, I HIGHLY suggest this place for something a little different. Huge portions of delicious breakfast morsels - with real, thick Irish bacon and hefty potatoes - I don't think I ate for the rest of the day! more

My goodness, my Guinness!!! 4/2/2006

This is a friendly joint. If you are just in the mood for a good beer and don't want to "dress up" to go out- I strongly recommend this place. They have great priced beer and it doesn't get very crowded on weeknights. Warning- Plan ahead if you are going on St. Paddy's day, they have a cover and a line out the door. more

Friendly place by the beach 4/5/2005

The Celtic Swell is a great place to meet friends and enjoy a beer. The Swell also has a pretty good menu for Sunday brunch and every day of the week. I especially like the curry potato and french fries. I also suggest a bloody mary, if you aren't vegetarian, since their mix has anchovies in it. The Swell brings a nice change to Alki, it is comfortable, family friendly and clean. The Swell seemed to loose a lot of business in winter, they trimmed down their menu. I hope they are now on the upswing. They have a trivia night also, for me it was impossible. Not sure if it is Tuesdays or Wednesdays you'll have to call. more
