Editorial review from Citysearch 7/21/2013

My cat had ongoing health problems. His condition was deteriorating. I contacted Dr. Ask on 7-13-13. He said there would probably not be any improvement and left the decision up to me. On 7-15-13 the cat was fading rapidly. I arranged for Dr. Ask to make a housecall to euthanize the cat. Upon arrival to euthanize a beloved pet he had treated since his practice's inception the only words to me concerned signing the invoice. Nothing more. He administered a sedative. About 2 minutes later he gave the injection to stop the heart. The cat let out a horrific scream that lasted for 10-15 seconds as Dr. Ask casually said to him ""I know you don't like me."" He bit through his tongue as he died. I will hear this scream for the rest of my life. I was too shocked to speak. When questioned the next day Dr. Ask said such outcomes were not unusual. I had with great reluctance accepted that his life was at an end. I will never be able to accept that he died in agony with a horrible scream of pain. Draw your own conclusions. more

A Horrible End 7/18/2013

My cat was under treatment for not eating. He was given various treatments which failed to improve his condition. Dr. Ask stated that there would probably be no improvement and left the final decision to me. When he stopped eating for 3 days I asked him to make a housecall for the purpose of euthanizing the cat. He arrived with a technician, gave a sedative injection and 1-2 minutes later gave the injection to stop the heart. As soon as he administered that injection the cat let out a horrific scream which lasted for 10-15 seconds and which I will hear for the rest of my life. I was too schocked to speak. He bit through his tongue as he died. When questioned the next day dr. Ask said that such outcomes are not unusual. Draw your own conclusions. more

Stay clear of this place 5/10/2012

I had been going to this Vet for about two years on and off. One day I brought my cat in for a scheduled check up. It was just before closing. The assistant came in and was kind and attentive. When the vet came in he appeared agitated and apprehensive. My cat sensed this and withdrew in fear. He had never done this before. In an effort to gain control of my cat the Vet attempted to distract him. He then forcefully grabbed my cat by his neck. My poor cat let out the most horrible scream I had ever heard. The assistant came in the room to see what had happened as I am sure my cats scream was heard in the surrounding streets. He told her to shut the door. My poor cat then began to urinate and defecate all over the room, obviously in fear of his life. My cat continued to scream louder and louder. The Vet was holding my cat improperly and hurting him. There was feces and urine everywhere. The Vet then took my cat into the back room to clean him up. I was in shock at the way he handled my cat. It was horrendous. My spouse asked why our cat was defecating everywhere and the Vet responded, "There is a term for being this scared." Pros: null Cons: null more

My cat feels calm when going here. At first I was not happy to take the dogs and cat to different places but it is worth it. more

Cats Only: An Excellent Vet 10/5/2009

I used to take my cats to Cats Only when I lived in the King of Prussia area. It was awesome to go to a vet that specializes in cats... no huge dogs to freak your cat out in the waiting room! Their service was excellent. I'm only sorry I've been unable to find a vet I like as much here on the Main Line. more

We take all three of our cats to Cats Only had truly love it. The staff is so friendly and really makes you feel welcome. Major - the vet cat- is a dollbaby and helps pass the time while you are waiting. My favorite aspect of this vet clinic is that they specialize in cats. No other animals are in the waiting room other than cats. This makes it a lot easier!! more
