If you seek management for your property-beware. CGA is good at collecting rent checks, but when it comes to communication, common sense, and follow-up, it's another story. When a fridge light was out, they wanted to pay for an appliance repairman (I told them to replace the bulb-fixed) Then they said I needed to buy a new TV because it was stuck on channel 3. I told them to check the remote. I had to fly over to insist they find it, and when they did-TV fixed. Lazy, costly solutions. They checked out a tenant, who had damaged the wood floor, and without getting an estimate to fix it, gave him his deposit back minus 100.00. When they couldn't find someone to fix it for that amount, they just put it back in my account, without telling me, and ignored it! 2 year later, after massive time and email on my part to prod them, CGA finally saw where it would be $400.00 plus moving furniture out of entire first floor to fix it. They conveniently dropped me as a client, saying my manager was retiring. I am left with a damaged floor-a $400 bill and the inconvenience to fix it. Look elsewhere for management! more

I'm so glad to have the opportunity to say thank you to the fine folks at Cathy George & Associates. On several occasions I needed both short and long term rentals for myself and family members during a difficult time and I can tell you I've never been so taken care of before. Everyone in the office is delightful, every call answered and handled... just the best. We now know what aloha is all about thanks to these great folks. This property manager is down right unethical and unfair and irresponsible. Cathy George will not accept any responsibility what so ever for her or her employees shortcomings. I experienced this first hand as I leased a ""high end property"" from them. We had notified them that after 8 months that we were to terminate this lease. They instructed us to give 28days of notice, then forgot about us. At the end of the 28 days we discovered that NO effort was done to advertise the property. We had even received correspondence that the property was being advertised. She then claims that we are still responsible for the rent and refuses to give our $2200.00 deposit back. What is the job of the property manager anyway and why are we subjected to their failure to perform their jobs properly. Cathy George herself had no knowledge of her employees actions or lack there of. She had to be called frequently to get any answers and was down right inflexible! We would like to report a particularly bad story that we experienced\r in the house we rented under a contract with the real estate\r ""Cathy George & Associates"". This house was located in the Sierra\r Drive area of Honolulu, a location that we chose for its supposedly\r quietness. Our place was really gorgious, except that the building also had an\r additional studio attached to the unit (below our kitchen) and that\r was not part of the rent. This place was occupied by the owners' son, and our relationships with this person quickly turned out to\r be a nightmare. Slaming his doors constantly throughout the day, the\r guy was extremely noisy (he even brought to his place\r an electric guitar) and smoked illegal stuff below our window several time per\r week. We even witnessed the coming of ""atypical"" people (likely\r dealers) to our parking area, which progressively gave us a bad\r feeling of insecurity. We mentioned this problem to our contact person\r at ""Cathy George"" We thought that paying our rent of 3200$\r every month on time would likely give us the right to deserve a\r minimum of respect from our neighbor, as well as a minimum of peace in\r this place. On the contrary the consequence of our complain came as a\r shock: as we were just getting to the end of our 6 month-lease agreement, the\r later was not renewed. In addition to a bad impression to have\r suffered of race discrimination from our real estate contact person at\r the beginning of our lease contract (a story that we did report to the\r ""Fair Housing""), we got the feeling that no effort\r was done on their side to help us with this terrible situation (most of our\r phone calls and emails were not returned). Above all, through\r this story it became obvious to us that ""Cathy George and Associates""\r do not seem to bother working with property owners who deliberately\r override the laws imposed by the state (e.g. the owners showed up a few times at our place without any notice contrary to what was stated in our contract). more

The agent who was suppose to meet with me didn't show up that morning. He didn't bothered to make a phone call or send me an email. Instead, he decided it was best that I waited for him and realised that he was not going to show up. The next day I received an email explaining that his boss didn't think my place was high end enough for them to manage. ""We only manage high end property"", as he explains in the email. Would I recommend their service? Yes, if you want to enjoy the overwhelmed sensation of wasting your life. It's not like no one has ever stood you up and tell you that you are in the ""low end"" category. We all need to be put in our place someday by someone. This company certainly does that for me. more
