Cathie Lee Doll Hospital

BEWARE! I had recommended this place to my mother based on all of the positive reviews and we are all absolutely appalled at what followed. My mother took her childhood doll here (from the late 1950s/ early 1960s) in late 2018 to be professionally cleaned. After numerous non-answered, non-returned phone calls and messages made by my mother, I was finally able to reach her last week (late May 2019). She advised that the doll would be ready for pickup this week. When my mother went to pick her up, not only had the doll been damaged, but she was still forced to pay full price, and was not even given an apology- just an "it happens, I'm busy, yada yada yada" line of excuses. We can only assume that the 6 months of non contact was them hoping we would all forget about this family treasure. My mother is beyond devastated and I am SO angry that this has occurred. An explanation in a timely manner, a sincere apology or even a discount may have sufficed. This is extremely poor customer service and business practice. There is no excuse for this and I do plan on taking this matter further. more

I bought a My Twinn doll on ebay and when it arrived, it had the head/neck broken. I called the hospital and the lady told me what to do. She was very helpful and seemed concerned. I will consider them for my future doll needs. Thanks a lot! more

My poor doll need to be put back together. The rubber bands were broken. When I went in they said that they could go it on the spot...WOW! I was done in about 15 minutes...This saved me a second trip... thanks more

Good: I was passing their store and saw the sign said American Girl dolls. When I went inside I was suprised that they had so many dolls for sale. At first glance I thought that it was only doll repair. there was all types of dolls, old and new! Also they had a large supply of dolls shoes an accessories. Not only did i find the shoes that I needed, but a new dress for her doll.. Bad: The person behind was very informational and friendly.. Other: this is a place to see!!. more

I was so excited to take my childhood doll from 30 years ago to the Cathie Lee Doll Hospital so it could get a "makeover" before giving it to my 3 year old for her birthday. Unfortunately, upon walking into the shop, I was met with an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke. Since the smell of smoke saturates anything it can land on I chose not to leave my doll for repairs. This is the first retail establishement I have ever been in that allowed smoking near the merchandise and the repair work. I let the owner know how I felt and she was helpful in telling me how I could repair the doll myself and seemed very knowledgable. Unfortunately the smell of smoke triggers an asthma attack in myself and I would never subject a child to the lingering smell on a doll/clothes. more

Like a fish out of water, I walked into the Cathie Lee Doll Hospital looking for a doll for my daughter. Upon first entering, I thought it was more an antique doll store than an actual doll store, but I was quickly informed that they sell antiques, new dolls and various parts for dolls that are "injured". I was sent there to buy a Baby Tenderlove doll, one that my wife had when she was a child. While they didn't have any in stock, the person working took my information and told me that she would check around and let me know if she was able to locate one. A week later, we received a call that the doll had been found and my wife picked it up for our daughter. It's been a hit. If you need any, and I mean ANY part for your doll or if you need to find a gift for a little girl, this would be the place to go. more
