Low moral values 1/29/2010

Good: Close to transportation and in a nice neighborhood.. Bad: Though this school boasts it is for high achieving girls, it may not have a culture of good values and respect. Many of the instructors and staff don't seem very nice unless you are a possible big donor to the school. Many of the kids are very privileged and don't treat others who are less privileged well.. Improvements: Improve the teaching staff and also create a more well rounded program.. more

Rude and obnoxious 5/25/2009

I was quite shocked when I went to a recent Open Day to consider this school for our daughter. The girls I encountered in hallways were rude, pushing through doors and shouting. I overheard three girls by the lockers deriding a fourth because they thought her family vacation destination was 'cheap'. The facilities were not great. This is a very small school. The skirts are ridiculous. What were they thinking of? The teachers were feeding girls the answers in observed classes. A debating class with four girls arguing in two teams was impressive until you noted that the rest of the class was: texting asleep passing notes St Jospeph's/Sacred Heart was superior in every way with kind and courteous students and calm organized classes with a lot of interaction. I'm a High School teacher (not at either school) so I know what I'm looking for in a school. more

Amazing school! 7/12/2005

Castilleja is an amazing school for girls! Castilleja is for middle school and high school students. It is wonderful! The students there are really smart and many get into the country's top colleges. The tuition is very expensive though--it costs around $25,000 a year to attend. Because of the high tuition, many girls there are extremely rich, and therefore, very snobby. The campus is very nice and many of the teachers there are hard and good at what they do. I definitely recommend you to attend this school if you can, it will probably be worth it. more

best school ever 7/10/2005

Castilleja is a wonderful high school for girls! Not only does it do a great job preparing students for college, they have terrific extracurricular activities. This is a top-rated school, so if you live in the area, you should definitely try hard to get your child in! Because trust me, if they get into an Ivy League school because they went here, you know it will be worth your troubles. It costs as much as private univiersities though to attend. more
