Best

THE BEST ANYWHERE!! THOSE SPINACH PIES? CAN'T GET ENOUGH! PIZZA? IN BOSTON, REGINA'S AND SANTARPIO'S ARE THE KING. THEY DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO CASERTA'S. BELIEVE ME, IT'S WORTH...

Worst

No toppings? This is not real pizza, its more like bread. Good crust, but all the bread and little pizza flavor makes for uninspiring pizza. Also some of the front people are rude...

Caserta - inconsistent 3/7/2003

Caserta Pizzeria has extremes. Some of the staff are obnoxious and condescending. The pizza is either one of the best you've ever had or one of the worst...overcooked and tough. There is no rhyme or reason. I do stop in there fairly regularly to buy Wippy Skippies (spinach pies to die for) but almost never to order pizza. I overheard customers from out of town as they were leaving the restaurant saying that there must be another Caserta's in the area because this couldn't be the one they'd been told about. Unfortunately, that has been the problem with Caserta's for EONS. more

Caserta vs Sicilia's 3/6/2003

I've been going to Caserta's for 35 years and it was better years ago. ""Now that Sicilia's has moved to the hill anyone that thinks they should be anything but number one is absolutely nuts."" Best Pizza I have ever eaten and will continue to eat is at Sicilia's.......its super delicious! more

LOUSY 3/6/2003

LOUSY service, over rated food, NO PEPPERS (green) for the topping????? Ever see an Italian pizza place with no green prppers???? Cons: no peppers, over-rated, no service more

REALLY, REALLY AWFUL!!! 3/6/2003

I am amazed that this place rates ANYWHERE near the top of ANYBODY'S best pizza. They must have put out an excellent product for their to be so much latent good will expressed for this place. The pizza was sub-par at best. The atmosphere has all the charm of a cattle car. The service is downright hostile. What gives? Do not waste your time and money on this pizzaria. Pros: Reasonably Priced Cons: Bad Pizza, Bad Service, Bad Atmosphere more

Definately not the best pizza 2/20/2003

I've had Caserta Pizza and from a person who hailes from the NYC area, this pizza is the WORST. It must be a RI thing, but I have yet to find a place who makes a decent piece of pizza. more

Great Pizza! 1/26/2003

This is a Providence landmark well known to natives and soon found by visitors and college students. No delivery is available but it's worth the trip to get one of their pizzas loaded with topping. No bottled sauces or bottled garlic powders on these pies! more

Service Sucks 1/13/2003

This place has the worst service in RI. Counter personel think they are doing you a favor taking your order. Last time I was there they told me order was not ready and then 30 minutes later found it on the counter. It was cold, the young lady told me to take it or leave it she did not care. Well I have not been back there since. Cons: Service, Parking, Attitude more

HA, HA, HA, HA, HA........ 1/5/2003

Caserta's is rated as the best pizza in Prov? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING !!!!! Maby it was when the orriginal owner ran it. But, in my opinion, it rates right up their with Pizza Hut, Domanos, Papa Johns and even Chuck E Cheeses. In other words, nothing special short of lousey. If you really want good piza in Providence, Bob & Timmies and Cecelias are good choice's. Antonio's on Thayer Street (next to College Hill Book Store) is an excelent choice as well. Sorry, but Caserta's just dosent do it for me. Sorry. Cons: TERABLE SAUCE, LOUSEY CHEESE, BAD PIZZA more

Awesome 1/1/2003

Oh yeah, the pizza is awesome, but the Pig in a Blanket is unbelievable. Ya' just got to try one, especially the one with peppers. Pros: Food, Food, Food Cons: parking, traffic more

Old Time Favorite 12/6/2002

Best pizza? 12/4/2002

No toppings? This is not real pizza, its more like bread. Good crust, but all the bread and little pizza flavor makes for uninspiring pizza. Also some of the front people are rude. Pros: Crust Cons: No toppings, Little flavor, rude front people more

don't like the food 11/27/2002

I never enjoyed anything from the caserta menu just did not like it - 10 words ok more

No service with No Smile 11/27/2002

Caserta Pizza USED to be the best pizza in RI. Now it is not even the best pizza on Federal Hill. The serice is like a New York deli. The staff make you feel like you are imposing. The pizza is marginal. The dough has a greasy fried taste. The sauce has little seasoning. On the positive side... Spinach pies are still excellent!! Pros: Inexpensive Cons: No ambience more

how? 11/27/2002

how does this place always get rated so high... canned mushrooms and sauce... I'd rather go frozen more

Caserta Please come back! 11/27/2002

Caserta's used to be great, but quality has gone down in the last few years since Federal hill has gentrified. Pros: Locally owned, near the Hill Cons: Quality has gone down, low quality ingredien more

Best For Less 11/27/2002

Service is always good, A mistake was made on one of my orders but I was given the Pizza plus a gift cert. for the mistake and was told next time the pizza is on us. Now that's good customer service!!!! more

A lot of nothing at a great price 11/7/2002

There is a lot of it but the dough is bland as is the sauce and cheese Abraham more

just for dough 9/5/2002

I was very disappointed after years of not having a caserta pizza i finally went with my husband. I was very dissatisfied with what I thought was the best pizza around. The pizza had very very little sauce on it as well as a little cheese. I was not impressed with the pizza at all. Maybe I'm just used to my own now. more

It was a 10 8/14/2002

4 years ago a casserta's used to make my mouth water, and was the best, now it makes my mouth hurt because it is as hard as cardboard. I used to drive 45mins to get one. Now I just go to cumberland house of pizza, and know I am getting a consistinly good pizza, everytime. Pros: Cheap, filling Cons: Not good more
