Two thumbs up! Great service 2/7/2010

Good: 1) The ONLY mover I contacted who answered the phone at 8:30 a.m. 2) A real human (who spoke English) answered calls before the 2nd ring. No annoying "I'll call you when I get around to it" voice mail. 3) For each meeting at moving site (a relative's house 40 miles from our home) Cascade's owner arrived EARLY. 4) Move team arrived at time requested (10AM). No time wasted dilly-dallying, BS-ing. Efficient pack, load, transport, unload = final cost BELOW bid. 5) All furniture, dishes, etc. arrived just fine. Other: It was refreshing doing business with 30+ yrs moving business owner Eric Stephens. He understands the keys to surviving in such a competitive market are to be professional, polite, on time, friendly and helpful at every point in the process and most importantly for his move teams to deliver excellent results. In other words MAKE CUSTOMERS HAPPY. Note: Today is Super Bowl Sunday. I didn’t have to write any of this, but I wanted to. Cascade Moving and Storage most definitely earned these favorable comments. more

Do Not use these movers ever ! 10/4/2007

West Seattle family tried to use these so called professional movers and they are the worst moving company we have ever tried to use. And when we say tried that is all we were able to do. We called them to get an estimate not only did they not show up at all, they did not even call. Do not waste your time with this company more

great work ethic 8/10/2007

they were punctual, hard working, careful, professional, and very friendly across the board. for this move, they came in under their estimate. it should be said that we prepared well for the move -- boxed and organized everything carefully, moved a small volume of extremely fragile and valuable things ourselves, thought about where everything would go in the new space in advance. doing that kind of thing will improve your cost and experience, regardless of whom you use to help. a few of their movers were finishing up a move down the street, and they called them over to help out, even though it definitely drove the time (and thus the bill) down. i wouldn't expect that kind of thing to happen every time, but it demonstrates great character. highly recommended. more

Not a great move, but company reimbursed us. 6/15/2007

UPDATE: This company at first didn't respond to our complaint. We contacted the Better Business Bureau. Cascade Movers ended up reimbursing us for our whole move plus added funds to pay for the furniture that was destroyed. Thus they did do the right thing in the end.............. ____________________________________ Would highly recommend your NOT going with this company. When my Husband and I first scheduled a move with this company, we were impressed with the man who came out to look at our Apt. and give us an estimate etc. But it all went down hill from there. On the day of the move, the company sent one man whom had been working on another move all night. So needless to say he was not at his best. The other gentleman was so nice and was trying his best, but without the help he needed from the first man, things were dented, broken and now beyond repair. When they came to our place, they were shocked to find out we had a bunch of framed large paintings, which we had been promised would be "professionally" wrapped and taken care of. EVERY one of our paintings were dented, the frames all need to be repaired. Our dresser was dented on the top where upon we need to buy a new one as well as our bed side tables. We contacted Cascade as we had supposedly bought insurance for our move and told them we were fine not having some of the things replaced but at LEAST wanted to have our Dresser replaced as it was only 3 months old when our move occurred. We also requested the replacement of one of our art pieces as we were told at the framing store that it was unfixable and we would need to buy an entire new piece. We have YET to hear from Cascade about our complaint and we aren't expecting to. Go with this mover at your own risk. They look good initially but are not professional in the end. If you want your entire house dented and in ill repair, go with Cascade!! more

easiest move 5/15/2006

We used Cascade Moving & Storage Inc. for our recent move and they were great. The movers were on-time, professional, very hard working and careful -- they taped and wrapped up all of our furniture really well, they brought cardboard that they placed near the entry to avoid scratching our floors. We didn't have a full-service move so we packed all of our own boxes, but they moved all of these boxes for us (some companies won't do this) and they gave us a fairly good estimate on cost, although it did go over on time a little bit. The owner of the company is the guy that gives the estimate and he is fully insured. I think there is a 4 hour minimum, 2 men for weekend moves. For a small fee they will also go to the city and have them put up do-not-park signs for the duration of the move which was key in our neighborhoods. more

Actually enjoyed my move! 4/19/2006

These guys are the best. No only did they take great care of my furniture, they were quick, pleasant and nice to be around. I can't recommend them highly enough! more

I would definitely use them again. 3/30/2006

I've used Cascade four times in the last seven years, most recently one year ago. They are locally owned (actually remember me!) and I feel like the guys who moved my piano and precious belongings really cared about keeping everything in tact. They also had great attitudes even when they were moving the awful stuff like fire safes and pianos. more

Reliable movers 3/30/2006

we recently used Cascade for an inner city move and they were on time and very professional. They even were able to obtain parking permits and put out 'no parking' signs the night before so that we didn't have any issues during the move. This is especially critical in the city where parking is brutal. The quote/rate was fair and they went a little over, but it was definitely worth it. They hustled, were careful and I'd definitely use them again. best $ i've ever spent .....and my lower back (and friends) thank me for it:) more

friendly, careful movers 12/19/2005

i had a similar experience with the other reviewers (and thanks judysbook for this recommendation). we boxed up almost everything and they did a great job moving all our special things. no wall bumps and no dings or dents on the furniture. i'm giving them a 4 because when it came time to sign off on the work time had been added for the crew driving from the office (kent?) to our house and back (1 hr total at $137/hour). we were also a bit more than the estimate because they had to make two trips- the negative being it added time but we also had them throw every other odd thing into the truck on the second trip to take advantage of their braun. super nice guys (3 of them) who worked long, hard and fast. packing tip: i would highly recommend that any box with spillables (like olive oil, cleaning supplies, bathroom stuff) or that needs to stay oriented a specific way be labeled VERY clearly with arrows on all sides. more

Reliable & Professional Movers 8/17/2005

We used Cascade, a locally owned company, for our move from Ballard to North Seattle in 2002. I am a super picky person when it comes to other people touching my furniture, so I was careful to ask the right questions. These guys move pianos and antiques, and they know what they're doing. We got a reasonable bid from them (you get what you pay for). We took the option of packing everything ourselves, and they only provided wardrobe boxes for us to borrow on the day of moving. They did the rest. We hired three movers and they were all very professional and careful with our belongings. I would definitely hire them to do my next move. more

Great Puget Sound Move 6/5/2005

We used Cascade to do a small move from our house to Lopez Island and they were great. Showed up on time, friendly solicitous staff from quote through the move, unpacked everything carefully. I would use again for any local move. more
