Super Clean and They Really Care 5/14/2013

I first took my Beagle to Cascade Kennels 13 years ago while I spent a week in Hawaii and we had a very good experience. Unfortunately, he passed on and we haven't had a need to go back until recently. I was so impressed when I drove on to the property and then again when I walked in the door and took the tour. The place is impeccable and you would never know that there are many animals there. It smells fresh and clean! I immediately noticed that they have made a lot of improvements over the past 13 years. It looks recently remodeled and everything looks like new.\r \r It is very apparent that the people who work here love animals! They make special meals depending on your pets needs, keep their bedding and toys clean and really enjoy the time they get to spend with your pets.\r \r It's hard enough for me to leave my dog with anyone. This is Dodgers Favorite Hotel 7/31/2010

My dog has been involved at Cascade Kennels for over 5 years and loves the place. Whenever we've been there my dog has been greeted by name and with a smile. He's taken 2 Doggie Manners courses and was a solid "D" student. Not Cascades Kennels fault however, just mine and a dog that's a little too smart for his own good. The classes were great and taught me a lot, and I only wish I'd taken all my dogs over the years for their training. In addition, they taught my daughter how to handle our dog even when they weighted close to the same weight. This is a great facility and the people seem to really care about my dog. I'd highly recommend it to anyone. more

I love Cascade Kennels 4/24/2010

I have had many positive experiences with Cascade kennels and their staff. In the past 10 years, the head trainer, Katie has been extremely helpful with my very dog agressive rescue dog. The classes and board and train made him a much better pet and easier to take on walks and be around other dogs. I have taken my current pet to two obededience classes. I always received individual attention for any issues I have with my dog. That includes prompt answers to any e-mail questions I have whether I am in a current class or not. At the beginning of each calss the trainer makes it clear that no hitting of animals is tolerated and the owner will be kicked out of class without a refund. Their training methods are kind but consistant. The training rooms are always clean without odors. In the summer, we take the training outside, which is very pleasant. \r \r It is always a stressful situation for my dog to be boarded. Love the Classes!! 4/17/2010

I have taken my dog though several training classes at Cascade Kennels. The classes are a lot of fun! My dog and I learned a lot of things that we didn't know and worked on things that we knew but clearly needed help with. Their methods are fair and my dog was always excited to go class every week. In fact, she would start whining when we turned onto the street. \r \r I have taken a tour of the place where they board their dogs when I was out for classes. I have seen a lot of kennels looking for the right one for an upcoming vacation. Cascade Kennels was BY FAR the cleanest kennel I visited. My dog and I look forward to our first stay there. more

Excellent kennels, happy dogs 2/2/2010

First impressions of Cascade Kennels were favourable, the property, grounds and reception looked well kept, clean and smart. We were very impressed when the staff were very happy to show us round without advance warning or appointment; this is always a good sign that they have nothing to hide. Our labrador has since stayed several times; he is very happy to go into the kennels and has always returned in a healthy condition. We always book the daily walk for him to make sure he gets a little exercise and a change in environment from the indoor kennels. We like to board our dog in an establishment that is designed primarily for the well being of the dog i.e. a functional kennel and run is provided with exercise on offer, rather than a bedroom with sofas and tv for the pampered pooch! My dogs do great at Cascade. We started there for training and now also use their boarding services. The facility is very clean and they wash their bedding before I pick them up. The place smells clean, not like dirty dogs or harsh chemicals trying to cover up an unpleasant odor. This is the only facility in the area that will give you a tour unannounced. Most other places will only let you come in during certain hours or not at all. My dogs have always received excellent care while boarding there. Their training program is top notch as well! more

My dog drags me to the door, to get in ! 4/23/2009

I really like Cascade but my dog, she LOVES it! She starts trembling when I get to the top of their drive and I have to keep her leash on becasue she will bolt out the car to the door of Cascade, she can't check in soon enough. Pros: VERY clean, you could eat off the floor, oh wait, dogs do! Cons: Training classes popular, hard to get in but worth the wait more

Best Kennel in the area by far 2/12/2009

As far as kennels go this one gets an A+ Set in beautiful wooded landscaping, clean, warm, they let you bring your dogs bedding. His bedding always comes home clean too because they wash it for you prior to pick up. I love that after a trip, one less thing to wash!\r \r My dog loves going there so really, he speaks volumes. And when I pick him up he's happy to go home but I can tell he loves it there. The staff always remember him and his name which we hope is a good thing! He is an easy keeper, we sign up for plays and a walk and he just crashes when we bring him home. \r \r We recommend the groomer as well. They know how to do the doodle breed which can be a bit tricky. Well worth the drive if you love your dog. more

5 star hotel for dogs! 12/19/2008

Love it. But more importantly, my dog loves it there. Also, Katie Morrell's classes, the advanced classes and Becky Bishop's Puppy Manners classes also held there. It's a full service facility and the groomers are really good. \r \r As far as kennels go I do believe them when they say it's a state of the art kennel as a lot of thought, you can tell has gone into the design of this. I had no idea until I took the tour. Something other kennels in the area would not even offer. You can drop by anytime and take a tour, that, I believe is a good indicator of a kennel that is proud of what they have built. Like a pre-school I would never go to a place that would not allow me to see where my dog will sleep and hang out. \r \r The kennel is also expeptionally clean, I was rather surprised how clean it was and felt really good about my dog in their care. \r \r He is always happy to go there, drags me all the way to get into the door, takes a lot of guilt off my shoulders for sure! My Dogs love Cascade! 5/11/2008

I have been taking my dogs to Cascade for many years. The staff is great, and I have used them for training as well as boarding. Katie is an expert trainer there, and when my Golden Retriever died, she even went with me to look at a golden puppy to replace my beloved Golden. (the puppy did not pass, which I would not have known.) I think it would be hard to find a place for dogs as great as your home, but that said, they care about the dogs here, and that is a load off when you are away from your pet. I pay for training when I board my dogs, so they come home happy and well behaved. I read a previous review from an obviously disgruntled employee. I suggest that person writes their congress person about their health care coverage. This is a small, well run business. (I gave 4 stars because it is expensive, and I have 2 dogs, so it adds up. My dogs like to stay in the same pen, so perhaps it should not be twice the cost??) more

too many dogs for low quantity of staff 5/16/2006

While the kennels are located in a beautiful setting, I drove by several times to observe before boarding my pet there. I noticed dogs in play yards being completely ignored by the people with them. I've heard from others that there is not enough personnel to properly care for a high quantity of pets. The runs are indoors and if you don't pay for walks and plays, your dog sits in a kennel for 24 hours. It doesn't sound like that kind of environment is good for a dog's stress level so I've gone elsewhere. Pros: setting Cons: overcrowding, lack of staff more

Cascade Kennels 9/29/2005

As a professional trainer I have experience many kennels. Cascade Kennels truely is exceptional. From the way they maintian the property to the care they give the dogs. The stress level there is very low. A good sign of any kennel is the level of barking which at Cascade is minimal to none. That is a sign of happy dogs. The design of the kennel is totally geared towards the dogs comfort. Someone was thinking "dog" when they built this beautiful kennel in Woodinville Washington. more
