Save your money 3/12/2006

Dined at Casa Tua on 3/10/06 for the first, and last, time. Reservations must be made well in advance, and the staff is not flexible. Nice ambiance, but could be much more romantic inside if they would only lower the lighting. Waiter kept interrupting my conversation with my date. I don't mind paying for a great meal, but the portions are small and the food is very, very average. So disappointing. Prices are STEEP (2 cocktails, 1 dessert, 2 salads, and 2 entrees = $200 before tip). Don't expect a traditional Italian menu...there was no pasta, risotto, etc. Just lots of meat and 2 fish options. There is no reason for all of the hype. Better alternatives exist all over Miami Beach, at much better values. One plus...excellent drinks. I will never go back. Pros: good drinks Cons: very expensive, average food, small portions more

Huge let down 2/14/2006

Expecting the place that is so talked to be spectacular was quite a surprise when we arrived. With reservations made, we patiently waited at the bar with drinks close to an hour, before the hostess decided to tell us that our table was being ""prepared."" The service was so, so, not what we expected from such a well known establishment. Timing between course was anywhere between 15-25 minutes, after sitting for 2 hours, we still had not had our entrees. The entrees arrived as we slowly lost patience and were awful, inedible, and just plain bad. We don't mind spending the money, the prices are outrageous for what is being served, but the food nor the service was worth it. We left as the entrees were served, w/o asking for anyhting else. After 3 hours, you'd think you would have had your meal and then some. Pros: Romantic Patio, Beautiful House, Nice Decor Cons: Wait was absurd, Poor Service, Inedible Pricey Food more

It really sucks, so save your money 3/8/2005

The food is average, the attitude is high and the service is horrible. They should close this place down. It not well run and they don't have their act together. Cons: Overpriced, Poor attitude more

Decieving 12/3/2004

Due to your reviews, we took a chance and made reservations. Although our reservations were made for 6:30pm, doors did not open till 6:45pm. The food was unprepared, cold and not edible. My husband sent the coffee back twice because it was cold, never drank it, it was still cold. We left our food on our plates, our waiter never asked us once if there was anything wrong with our food. Never an apology for sending back the cold coffee three times. SAVE YOUR MONEY, NOT WORTH IT! more

Great Atmosphere; Average Food 7/3/2004

The setting can't be beat: beautiful without the touristy crowds. The drinks are great, and the service is incredible. The food, while very good, is not so incredible as to justify the very high prices. Still, the surroundings more than make up for whatever the food is lacking. Miami should have more places like this. Pros: Decor, Service, Drinks more

meraviglioso (marvelous) 3/28/2003

What a treat! Nestled on a quiet South Beach street, the restaurant is hidden away in a beautiful villa type house. The outdoor garden combined with the decorative interior, I had to ask my date to poke me every once in a while because I thought I was in Italy. The food was great. Classic Italian and very fresh. Great crowd. Just sorry that they ran out of the chocolate moose for dessert. Gabriella the host and the owner know how to make regular people feel special. Thanks Pros: Great food, Great atmosphere, Great service more
