over-rated, too greasy 9/21/2002

We have been there several times both for business and family dinners. Foods were always mediocre at best, though not bad either. Most dishes we tried were just too greasy. Looks quite popular for some reason. We were once asked to wait 2 hours, and I said we just leave. The hostess immediately showed a unhappy look. more

A Joke 9/19/2002

The fumes from your pick up trucks and too much sun must have gotten to you fools who rated this place #1. While not terrible, this is a chain restaurant. The food is average, but no better than any other chain such as an Olive Garden. more

Love It!!!! 9/19/2002

My husband and I absolutely love Carrabba's. We have visited several in the Houston area and each one gets a thumb up. We have yet to find another Italian restaurant that compares. We've tried many of the well known restaurants in Houston and they all seem to come up short. more

Best Italian restaurant 9/18/2002

I have not eaten in an Italian restaurant anywhere that was comparable to Carrabba's. Pros: Good friendly service, Excellent food Cons: Too loud, Crowded at peak hrs more

What a joke! 9/15/2002

I can't believe this restaurant won best Italian restaurant over Damian's and Arcodoro. There is no comparison. Damian's should have placed first and Arcodoro second. more

Typical Chain 9/12/2002

Doesn't deserve a number one rating! Our location in The Woodlands is one of the worst Carraba's I have been to. The menu needs some serious changes. They have had the same items for over 10 years. Boring. more

Yeah Baby!! 9/4/2002

My wife, kids and I have been enjoying Carrabba's Katy FRWY location fo years and have yet to be dissappointed. We think that that location has the mussels in the world (including Franc, Italy and Kirby location). Recently Johnny himself held sway for an evening and was every bit as charming and cordial as he is on TV. My wife told him how good the mussels were here and how much more attractive he is in person. He responded, "" now you sound like my grandmother!"" Great restaurant!! Good people!! Pros: good food, great waiters, great take-out Cons: Noisy more

outstanding food 9/3/2002

outstanding food, we have never been sorry for eating there, good service, best Italian in town Pros: excellent food, good service Cons: some what expensive more

Pan 8/31/2002

Great casual place, but certainly not best of Houston. I recommend it for a reasonable meal, but don't go on a weekend if you're in a hurry. Pros: Good food, Great for the price Cons: Crowded more

Yabba Yabba Carrabba's 8/29/2002

Carrabba's on Kirby has great chicken dishes (Mama Rosa's) and fantastic Lentle soup. The atmosphere is so ""up"" You feel good when you are there and the service has always been good. Cons: no reservations more

Good 8/20/2002

Excellent value for price. All the food was served promtly, with the service being very prompt. more

Don't be fooled, this isn't the best. 8/5/2002

There is so much hype surrounding Carrabba's and it's not justified. The food is not bad, but it does not justify all of this hype. Suffice to say that the ""sheep"" mentality of the average Houstonite is still going strong. I have been there a few times and have been disappointed time and time again. Case in point? Order the pork chop and you get a poor cut of pork (the T-Bone! how stupid!).. Now, let me explain.. a GOOD resturant would never use that cut of meat for a pork chop.... BECAUSE there is a HUGE T-bone in the middle of it.. That's what I call a ""Ghetto Pork Chop"".. Im not shelling out $18 for a ""Ghetto"" cut of meat that I can get off of a sunday morning barbeque pit. This place is a joke, over-rated and their chefs use a T-Bone cut for a pork chop.. Pros: Good Service Cons: Expensive, Bad Cooking more

Kirby and Voss the Best 8/1/2002

My best experiences have been at these two locations. Excellent food and service and both. I have only been to one of the franchised Carrabba's on 1960 and I only go there for the food, the service could be better. I absolutely love the one on Voss. As far as kids go, they are great. My son always gets some pizza dough to play with while we wait and the waiters are always very attentive. He loves the food and the atmosphere and he is only 6. I will continue to go b/c I enjoy the food. more

An Italian Houston family does it right 7/30/2002

I vote for this restaurant just for one reason alone: Veal, Veal, Veal! Most retaurants overcook it. Carrabba's cooks it perfect and has great varieties of sauces to eat it with. Their calamari is the best in town. The last time we went our children were treated with the utmost respect, which some restaurants don't do a good job at. They gave us a great table that was large enough for our party. The children were well behaved because the waitstaff actually talked to them and asked if they wanted fresh cheese on their pasta. The price is not bad considering. Pros: food, kid-friendly, menu variety Cons: waiting for table more

Good meal, wide variety 7/24/2002

Carrabba's is one of my favorite restaurants. Their sourdough bread is excellent. Their menu is diverse. I especially like their calamari. Their pizzas are excellent. Pros: Food, variety, calamari Cons: service, sometimes more

Don't overlook the pizza! 7/24/2002

Carrabba's serves great food, but it's also got the best pizza in town. Forgo the tables, sit at the pasta bar (and watch the show), order a salad, a glass of red wine and tell them how you want your pizza. It's incredible! Also, seating at the pasta bar is much, much faster than at a table! Pros: Great food, Attentive staff, Convenient locations Cons: Long waits at times more

Restaurant Connoisseur 6/28/2002

Ever since they chained with Outback Steakhouse a few years ago this once Houston classic has gone steadily downhill. I still enjoy the food, but the service is only average at best. Pollo Rosa Maria and Chicken Bryan are both great, but when you immediately get an attitude from the 17 yr old hostess at the door and then from you 19 yr old waiter just doesn't seem worth the $$. Although, the Kirby location is by far much better than the other new locations. Cons: Bad Service more
