Hockey!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4/17/2006

Hockey is a fun game to go watch if you are young or old, male or female...everyone can get into a good game of hockey...myself included. I think going to se the hurricanes is fairly reasonably priced for the NHL ($10 for the cheap seats) and a really good time. If you've never been to a hockey game, you should try to check one out. I promise yuo'll have a good time, hockey fan or not. more

Great time out 3/16/2006

$10.29 seats are available for any game, from the day tickets go on sale. They do *not* have to be bought day of. Seats up high miss out on some of the "bone-crunch" of hits, but if you're the sort of hockey fan that likes to watch the plays develop, the ends (333 and 314) in the upper deck are great seats. I've sat down low a few times and just can't follow the game as well as when I'm hanging out in the nosebleeds. There are college specials that give you discounts on lower-level tickets and non-$10.29 seats in the upper deck day-of-game, but that's risky if you really want to go. Usually between some promotion or another, you can find a discounted ticket. Concessions, as with every major sport, are outrageous - eat out or tailgate before the game and wait til you get home to unwind with that beer. more

I LOVE Hockey 2/24/2006

My company gives me tickets to Hockey games, which if I didn''t get them...I wouldnt make almost every game. I absoluly love going to Hurricanes games, they are always a fantastic time. The tickets areway expensive however. most "good" seats run about $50. The day of the game you can purchase nosebleeds for $10.29, whcih are still decent seats. Tailgate beforehand...beer here is $8 for a small plastic cup, so drinkin and eating inside is turbo expensive. more

Local Hockey 2/2/2006

The Carolina Hurricanes are our local hockey team. Now that hockey is back, the Hurricanes are hopping. Ron Francis has retired, but the "canes are still competitive in the NHL. Tickets are cheap this year due to last year's debacle. Now is a great time to be a caniac. Buy your tickets today! more

Fun if you can stand the price tag 8/19/2005

It's always fun to go to a live sporting event, so a Carolina Hurricanes game is definitely something to do in the Triangle. The drawbacks are that it is definitely not that fun to watch your team lose... and lose... and lose again. Okay, it is painful. The concessions are expensive, but there are a decent number of choices. Tickets are, again, expensive for the decent seats. Even the nosebleed seats aren't that cheap. more

hockey is back 8/18/2005

I’m glad the Carolina Hurricanes are going to be back on the ice again. Can’t wait to watch hockey again. The Carolina Hurricanes haven’t been to good and they probably wont be too good this year either. Tickets are not cheap but there is good parking around the stadium. Concessions at the RBC Center are also too expensive. more

If they're winning, better get your tickets early 8/9/2005

Die-hard Hurricanes fans will hate me for saying it, but it’s only fun to watch this team when they’re having a winning season like they did when they made it to the Stanley Cup finals in 2003. The RBC arena is a great place to watch them smack the puck into the goal, even if it is a pretty expensive place to visit. Parking is ample, and lines to and from the games go pretty quickly. Although I save money by sitting in the nosebleed section ($12.00), you can get by-the-ice seats if you’re willing to shell out $100 smackeroos. You won’t have a problem getting seats unless the Canes are having a great season. Then you might want to get them in advance, especially when they’re playing teams from states like Pennsylvania, New York, and Michigan. So many transplants to the Raleigh area snatch up the good seats pretty fast to these games. more
