it's nice on occasions but where do you guys consider the best? more

It's very expensive for tickets and popcorn. There are rarely any adult employees visible in the theatre, and the kids have not been trained well in Customer Service. I would love for someone to act like they are glad I'm spending my money there. It's also not very clean, but the customers have to take 50% of the credit for that. I prefer the Carolina. The movie going experience could be so much better, From employee morale to decor repairs. Management seems to lack the ability to screen for young people with good attitudes and listening skills. I go to this theatre each weekend and with the exception of 2 or 3 employees with good attitudes, I walk back to see the movie thinking that "this movie theatre could be run a lot better". Another theatre in the area could drive this one into the ground if it was run with the public in mind. more

I do not currently work there but I used to, I can say that we were getting a lot of corporate pressure. Our hours were being cut, they were scheduling less and less people to work during the week. There was a strain on how many hours we could work in a day. This explains why you see the employees as less than perky. As for the popcorn, thats a matter of personal preferance and what time of the day you go. I had people say that it was the best popcorn they have ever had, and some who said it was to salty. The first few batches are not that great because the popper is still really clean, the salt and butter that builds up on the inside gives it its great flavor. Also it depends on who pops it, everyone does it differently. The prices are getting rediculous. more

Everything was nice and clean. The concessions are a bit high for what they give you. Too cold in the theaters, but other than that....it was great! more

Hickory's newest theatre is by far the worst in every category except cleanliness and view of the screen. The "criteria" for rating this theatre only deals with what it is good at. Try "customer service", or "quality of popcorn", or "overall value". Or how about the simple fact that it's the weekend and you cannot get on-line to find out what's playing because no one has reported it yet. The Crown and the Carolina theatres have their movie listings posted, both have better popcorn and both employ people with "personalities". The Carolina rates best for "employees", best for "popcorn", best for comfort, and definitely best for "VALUE".
