Nothing Fancy but great food 6/1/2009

Great food ant great prices and a very friendly atmosphere. Carl's Steak House is a great place to just be your self and eat some very good food at great prices. The steaks are tender and the salad bar is also excellent. I thouroughly enjoyed the way the staff personally takes the time to speak with you on your dining experience. I truly reccomend this establishment to all who are in the Hurst area. Located near Brown Trail and Pipeline in Hurst. Come and get a bunch of food for a great low price. Exceptional Value 5/14/2009

I've got to say I hope the gentleman who had such a bad experience there goes back for a second try. My family has been eating there for the past 20+ years on and off and consistantly the steak and chicken has been very good, the bread is texas toast seasoned very nicely and the baked potatoes are worth the price of the meal. Any restaurant can have an off steak occasionally. Their mark would be how they handled it if brought to their attention, which it doesn't sound like this was done. Pros: Great food, affordable prices Cons: aging facility and wait staff more

Great Affordable Steak Seafood & Chicken. 2/1/2009

Carl's is a throw-back to the 70's ""family steak house"" format that is still operating and offering fantastic values. The menu has many steak, seafood, and chicken items, each prepared equisitely and served wtih your choice of potato, vegetables, or rice at working man's prices. Salad bar is available, as well as limited desserts. Exceptional values for menu price. Restaurant is consistently full of families and seniors looking for a good steak at an affordable price. Open til 9 week nights; 9:30 weekends. Several of the wait staff have been with them over thirty years - great family atmosphere. Good food - good service - good value! 2/21/2008

After reading an earlier bad review we almost didn't try this place. We're very glad we did! We both had the basic 6-oz sirloin dinner. The steaks were thick, juicy, and cooked as ordered. The salads were fresh and generous. Baked potato and Texas Toast were yummy. Service was prompt and quite attentive. The restaurant itself was attractive and clean. And, best of all, the prices were reasonable. Our bill was less than $20. All in all, a very good value. We'll go back and also try some of the other menu items. Carl's offers much more than steaks. more

My steak was thin, overcooked and chewy. The baked potato had aluminum in it. The salad bar is extra and you don't even get a salad with your dinner. They charged me .38 cents for an extra piece of bread with my dinner. They brought me the charge ticket for the piece of bread right to my table! How ridiculous is THAT??? Lousy service. The woman at the cash register should run a reform school. She is HORRIBLY rude. I will never go there again. Cons: rude service, bad value, lousy food more
