Editorial review from Citysearch 2/5/2014

I have been going to this practice for 13 years. Needless to say I have grown more irritated with this practice within the last two years. Dr. Burri's attitude has become more cold and disrespectful. I was due for a physical in December which the practice scheduled it for but then charged me as a regular visit. My insurance does not charge for physicals. Dr. Burri put me on Januvia and two other meds for what he said was Type 2 diabetes. The nutritionist at the office said it wasn't a weight issue but rather a carbohydrate issue. I was told to cut my carbs way back to 5-10 grams a meal (the previous doctor told me that I couldn't cut back on carbs because I have high blood pressure and takes meds for it). The Januvia and FDA website listed shakes, dizziness, low blood sugar readings, and irritation as side effects that need medical attention. When I told Dr. Burri about these side effects, he was disinterested and told me that I needed to take the Januvia at night so the side effects wouldn't bother me. I asked about my low sugar levels and he told me that I wouldn't show signs of problems with that for at least 60 years. I asked him if that was correct then why does the Januvia website say it is a side effect that needs medical attention. He said not to worry about it. Dr. Burri gave me a flu shot last April and when I asked about it today I was told that I didn't need one because I wasn't old enough. I asked why I got one in April and he told me that he didn't recall ordering me one but it was written in my file saying he did and I did receive it. He had no explanation. If you want a doctor who seems to care about your health then I recommend that you don't go see this doctor. more

Not the Best 10/25/2009

I have been going to this office for a few years and have seen two doctors there and one NP. While I do find they are willing to treat your symptoms, they do not seem to be concerned enough to find out the underlying problem. Personally I am switching to a different doctor due to two of their own doctors somehow not learning of an immune disorder after 5 weeks of continual visits. (This was realized within one appointment and one test with a new doctor.) Pros: Will provide medication Cons: Really do not listen to patient concerns more

IGNORED CALLS 5/14/2008

I am writing with grave concern about this practice. I was seen by a doctor there on Monday, May 12, 2008 for viral symptoms. While there is no medication for a virus, I was told, I was offered a cough medication containing hydrocodone to address the cough. In that I am a mother of a small child and not a substance abuser, I declined the prescription. The doctor told me to call back if my condition worsened and I felt that an antibiotic was needed. He stated that an office visit would not be needed, as he would call in a prescription based on my previous appointment and the new symptoms. Two days later, my symptoms had worsened. The symptoms I began to experience were those of a sinus infection - often secondary to a virus. As noted previously, the doctor told me to call if a prescription was needed. I called and was put through to the the voice mail of the nurse. Her recording noted that she checked her voice mails often and she would return the call. After waiting several hours, I called again and was told that the nurses had gone to lunch and to call back at 1:30 p.m. I did so and left another message. In that my pharmacy would be closing, I called again and left another message with an actual person. This lady told me that it might take 48 HOURS for a nurse to return my call!!!! Of course, she offered to schedule an appointment for me - with another $25.00 co-pay attached! Again, my call was ignored. One final attempt was made providing another pharmacy's information and requesting that the promised prescription be called in! Guess what? My call was not returned and my prescription was not called in to either pharmacy. I think that the actions of this practice were neglectful. What happened to that little medical oath about relieving the suffering of patients???? more
