I've been going to cards r fun in all 6/4/2012

I've been going to cards r fun in all of it's various locations over the past 20 years. While it is indeed a ""fun"" place and there are a fair amount of interesting cards and memorabilia, the prices for single cards are ridiculously overpriced. John is great and fun to talk to, but can be a little creepy, especially if he is wearing his sidearm.Go here for a fun look, pick up some storage items, or for a nice range of rare packs of cards, but do not expect anything to be reasonably priced. more

Some Good Steals...Overall, Not Worth It 8/31/2011

While I like the ambiance and selection of the products at Cards R Fun...the prices are overall overpriced. There are much better stores out there with better prices that will save you a fair amount of $$. Now I know it's not fair to compared everything to eBay. On the positive side, the 50% discount specials are definitely worth checking out...so I won't give this a one-star rating. Packs/boxes are generally too much compared to the standard median. The singles, memorabilia and miscellaneous items are pretty fun to check out. Just be warned...when a cashier offers a deal, what is initially overpriced is merely being reduced to a hair above average/right at average. Ultimately you are not getting that good of a deal in the end and your wallet will feel it. more

Cards-R-Fun does it the right way, honest with integrity. 10/12/2008

As someone who has bought from Cards R Fun since I was a kid (I'm 28 now), I've had plenty of time to get to know the owner and develop a good friendship with him. John is very conversational and knowledgable about a lot of things and has a great sense of humor, and is negotiable on his prices.\r \r He prices at book but does not SELL at book. Disregard the previous review, as it is not very factually based. I shop here weekly as he has a GREAT selection of commons from the 1950s-present. I recommend this place to my friends and fellow collectors, and will continue to do so because John does it right and it honest, and that's why he's still here and some of the crooks that have opened shops around here and ones that promote shows in M'boro have either closed down or are having trouble keeping their shows going. \r \r If you're looking for superstar autographs at less than half book, you won't find it here. If you're looking for unique memorabilia, lots of cards/commons and a nice selection, you'll find that at Cards R Fun.\r \r Pros: great selection, negotiable, unique, friendly owner, TONS of vintage Cons: not as much new stuff but that's OK! more

Extremely expensive! 9/1/2008

This guy has a few nice things but he is unbelievably overpriced. His boxes run about $30-$75 higher than ebay per box. He asks book value for his singles (most card stores ask a max of 50% of BV). Nice guy but just ridiculously expensive. Pros: Not many customers so no lines Cons: Expensive! more
