Fresh Seafood at a reasonable price 12/6/2005

They're a reason you see so many old people eating at Capt.Mardens, You can get a nice meal for a decent price. They also have a pretty extensive menu with a couple of "Specials "every day . Go at rush hour and you could be in for a long wait for a table. You can call ahead and have your dinner to go , but at rush hour it still make take longer than estimated. You can order most items grilled or fried. Chicken and burgers for the non seafood eater in your group. Try the grilled seafood salad. It's delicious! more

Excellent Quality and Huge Selection 8/15/2005

Captain Marden's seafood market in Wellesley is a great place to pick up fresh seafood, including shellfish. This market has a giant selection, and everything is displayed out in the open so that you can look over the appearance of the item before you buy. It isn't the cheapest fish market, but the quality is definitely worth it. On the weekends, it does get pretty crowded, but there are lots of people working usually, so the line goes down quickly. more

Best Breakfast in Town 7/3/2005

This restaurant has the best breakfast in town. We wanted to find a place that had a wide range of choices, was clean, friendly and served breakfast beyond 11am. We found it at Captain Mardens. The pancakes are good. The bacon is good. The juice is good. The coffee is refilled. They also have waffles, omlettes etc. It's good clean no frills breakfast, without any semblance of greasy spoon. Expect to leave with your belly full. The atmosphere is clean and sunny. The value is also very good. I think price wise this has the best values in the downtown area. Its also a place that's kid friendly. I see many families there with babies through teen years. On that note, the place seems filled with folks of all ages. This truly is a family restauarant. on Mother's day they gave out flowers to mothers. It's also fun as you can see the work being done in the kitchen and it's got a counter too. There's ample parking or one can just walk ten minutes from the train or downtown shopping. Check it out. more
