Editorial review from Citysearch 3/8/2013

I called for an appointment with a certain doctor ended up with a different doctor. I WAITED one hour before seeing any doctor! No sorry from the doctor and asked why I was there. I was suffering from the shingles which I told everybody down the line. They wouldn't accept my insurance card.\r NEVER again will I go to Sierra Doctors. more

Very Impersonal Treatment 11/8/2011

I am there with you. I went to Dr. Boeye for my physical. He does not listen. I told him I have a problem with my eye so he said he would refer me to an eye doctor. I asked him to refer me to Dr. Meister because he had done my surgery on my lids and when I got the referral it was to Dr. Patchett in Auburn. I thought oh well I'll go see him. What a mistake. He told me I had a degeneration and it happens to everyone as they get older! Bull! I wasn't satisfied to I went to Dr. Meister and come to find out I have a tumor in my eye. Had I just gone along with Dr. Boeye's referral who knows what would have happened. Sierra Doctors staff is cold and very impersonal. I feel like a number $$$, not a patient. They told me to go for lab work and did not even tell me whether or not I had to fast. I had to call them and come to find out they had not even sent the orders over to the lab! So I waited 2 days and then went to the lab after fasting for 12 hrs just to be told there were no orders for me there. So I called SD and they tried to blame Sutter Lab. Sutter Lab says this happens all the time. Same thing with prescriptions. If a prescription runs expires it takes an act of congress to get SD to fax a new one. Not to mention the wait time! OMG, I have waited 45 mins in a room just for the doctor to come in and then get called out and the waiting continued. I hate going there!\r more

Don't go here! 5/16/2011

DON'T GO HERE - you deserve better treatment. Sutter Health on Bell is by far better! The owners of Sierra Doctors, Mr. and Mrs. Boeye do not care about you as a person. As a patient you don’t ever get the sense that Mr. or Mrs. Boeye are really taking the time to get to know you as a patient so they can truly understand your needs. Instead, they make quick and unsafe diagnosis so they can move on to making the next dollar. I know parents of the school where my son attends who were mistreated by them. One family could never get a hold of their x-rays for which they paid cash for at the time, because they didn’t have insurance. My personal and most recent experience with them has led me to feel truly disheartened for how money hungry and corrupt people can be. My 64 year old mother fell and fractured her hip. On Friday we took her into Sierra Doctors. We paid cash ($200 plus an addition $50 was charged after the visit) for her to be x-rayed. She waited 3 hours to be seen and after she was x-rayed, we did not receive any information on the results that day. We were told to wait until we receive a call. Monday rolls around and no one calls, so we call them instead. They tell us we will get a call from the doctor today. No call. Tuesday we call again, they tell us a doctor will call us back. By Wednesday my mom is in excruciating pain and we call Sierra Doctors, being placed on hold for long periods of time and our class mis-transferred several times. We are finally transferred to Sherri, an outsourcer, who tell us to go 20 miles from our home to a surgeon who will look at her hip. She tells us that she will make sure his office gets our x-rays. We drive 20 miles to the doctor with my mom in excruciating pain only to be told that Sierra Doctors gave them the wrong format so they cannot look at the x-rays. We had even asked Sierra Doctors if we could just pick up the X-rays ourselves and bring them to the doctor, but she said that would not be necessary. They tell us this is not the first time Sierra Doctors has done this and recommend we just take my mom to Auburn Faith Hospital. Thank you Auburn Faith Hospital for your kindness, professionalism, and bill-pay system. Finally, on Friday (A WEEK LATER), I receive a call from Sierra Doctors telling me that my mom’s x-rays are in and that she does have a fracture. I stop him short as he starts explaining her injury to me to tell him that she already received care from Auburn Faith Hospital. I told him my story and he transferred me to the owner, MARGIE BOEYE, CEO. I explained to her what happened. She tells me that she will “research this matter” and get back to me in 2 hours. She calls me back within the hour and tells me that she “looked into it and that there were calls made on their end”. I said there were calls made on your end only because we were desperately trying to reach someone who could help us. The calls really were on our end trying to get someone to help my mom. I then told her that I have heard about her treating other people this way and that I didn’t expect for her to handle the issue responsibly since I know they have done this to others in the past. I told her that since she had our hard earned money, obviously that is all she cares about. She hung up on me. Needless to say, I will never do business with them again. It is sad because I was born and raised in Auburn, I went to school with the Boeye’s son, Ian Boeye, and I and my family were treated by Sierra Doctors our whole lives. To see a small town community that I genuinely love contain a practice that does not support the values and honesty of a beautiful, small town community deeply disheartens me. Thank God for Auburn Faith Hospital and Sutter Medical Group. more
