Salt fish cost more. 8/11/2006

I am a price person and research prices between stores and the internet. So far Capitol Aquarium is a little expensive on salt fish but a little cheaper on most corals but "O" Street is way cheaper on fish and they sometimes will deal on their stuff so the best thing to do is before you go to pick up your marine marine stuff price it on the internet then compare the items at both places they're only a couple of blocks away from each other, there isn't any way to say one is cheaper than the other without shop shop shopping. more

Missing Fish 3/19/2006

Nemo probably would still want to go back home to be with his father is he was here. Some kids from my daughter's school went to this aquarium and felt it wasn't all that great. Although, I have a racquet ball friend who took her boyfriends grandson to this place and they loved it. She said it was a great way to spend some time with a little one, looking at fish. It's right of Capitol City Freeway, take the P street exit from the east or take the T street exit from the west off I-99. more

Lots to look at 12/15/2005

Although we have never purchased anything at the Capital Aquarium, we have been there numerous times. The kids love it! There are so many things to look at. The kids love the Koi pond, the turtles and the frogs. You can spend a couple of hours there and it is a great little field trip! It is a large place and very extensive! more

Best Aquarium in the area! 10/26/2005

My husband and I recently started keeping salt water fish. The staff at Capitol Aquarium are very knowledgeable and friendly. Their prices are very reasonable and they have a huge selection. My kids look forward to going there because they enjoy feeding the fish. We had a very bad experience with another local aquarium and we ended up losing all of our fish. The staff at Capitol helped us nurse our tank back to health and stock it with the appropriate fish for our tank size. more

Great place for the kids 8/19/2005

If you have kids and are in need of a day trip, then defenitely consider bringing them to the Capitol Aquarium. With their huge displays and variety of underwater animals, the kids are sure to enjoy the experience and be less of a pain for the rest of that day. Hopefully you enjoy the experience as well as I did! Bring the family too! more

Absolutely the Best! 8/8/2005

Capitol Aquarium is the best place around for all your aquatic supplies. It has anything and everything you could need - from a one goldfish bowl to a 300+ gallon saltwater aquarium set up. The selection is incredible. Your kids will go crazy and spend hours just trying to decide which new fish to add to their collection. The staff is the best around, and they are able to answer even the most obscure questions with complete knowledge and confidence. Even if you don't have an aquarium, this place is just fun to browse and look at all the neat fish they have. more

The best fishy store around!!! 8/7/2005

Capitol Aquarium is really the "cat's meow" of fish stores. It's the biggest fish store I have personally ever seen, with the widest variety of fish, both salt and freshwater!! The staff at Capital Aquarium are nice and knowledgeable about all kinds of fish. There is a fabulous Koi pond as you walk in the door....Sherbert the Red Devil that "chases" you, a 1,000 gallon tank to awe over.....plus you can get good deals on tanks at certain times of the year!! Lots of fishy supplies as well. The prices are a bit high, but their live fish guarantee for freshwater fish can't be beat!! I highly recommend Capitol Aquarium!!! more

My Favorite Aquarium in Sactown! 8/4/2005

Capitol Aquarium has to be one of the best aquariums in all of northern California. The koi pond as you enter the store is amazing (the koi's are huge!). Not to mention many of their other fishes they have. The prices are little more inflated than some other stores I have been to, but I suppose it's worth it when you have such a welcoming environment. more

Largest Fish Store in Town 7/17/2005

Capitol Aquarium is the best and biggest fish store in town. The store has hard to find items as well as daily neccesities for fish. The store has things for both fresh water and salt water fish, but seems to be more geared towards the fresh water fish. They also have tons of items for koi ponds and koi fish. And the employees are so helpful and know what they're talking about and how to help you and give excellent recommendations on items. more

Deep Sea Dreamin 6/19/2005

Capitol Aquarium is by far the best fish store in the Sacramento, maybe even northern California area. The store is easily accessible off of I-80 and has such amenities as a koi pond, electric eel tank, and an eight foot tall aquarium. The store is very large and has mostly fresh water, but, also salt water fish. more
