What a rude son of a bitch 10/9/2009

Went in there today, to see what was on sale after the summer. After browsing a pair of pants, the shop queen told me that he didn't like the way that I had set them back on the shelf, as though I was supposed to fold them back just like the shop keeper does. What a jerk. I've spent untold dollars in there over the past 13 years. In today's economy, they've got a lot of balls insulting customers who are even willing to enter their high priced store. Let's face it- not everyone is willing to drop $400 for a pair of pants right about now. Fire that jerk, and hire some one who really wants a job. Pros: none what so ever Cons: overpriced rudeness more

One of my favorite stores 2/15/2008

I disagree with the negative comment below, I don't find the service to be rude here at all. This is one of my favorite stores in the city, and I have shopped here with my husband and known the owner for years. He's a smart and funny guy, has an amazing eye for fashion, which is evident since the store has been around for over 30 years. Pros: Great selection and service Cons: Not near many other stores more

One of the Best - Camouflage Clothing 2/15/2008

This store is simply amazing. I have been a customer for about 10 years now and I have yet to be disappointed by the clothes or the service. The owner is personable, takes pride in what he sells, and provides a pleasant consumer experience. Pros: Great quality clothes, service and more Cons: Its all the way downtown more

Rude Service, Over Priced, and not worth the time 6/19/2007

The store has nice clothes but the service is horrible. The owner is rude, arrogant, and is sexist towards women. The products are over priced especially with Barney's Co-op down the street, which has a better selection and better prices. But I have to say the fact that he treats women with such disrespect is unheard of. Doesn't he know that women spend more money on their husband's clothes then men do? I definitely do not recomend this place. There is rude service and their is offensive behavior, the owner crossed into offensive. Pros: Decent Selection Cons: Offensive Service more

rude phone call 9/8/2005

I called the store asking about what jeans they carry and the guy on the phone says they only have g-strings and jockstraps in the store. To me it sounds like the guy answering the phone was wearing his g-string 2 sizes too small. There are plenty of places in NYC to shop I'll go to places that can leave the attitude at home. Cons: phone call was rude more

Clothing that makes the Man 9/27/2002

Clothing that always looks great. And one of the few stores that does carry the Michael Kors collection. Mix and match with the other great labels that are carried (Paper Denim, Paul Smith, Helmut Lang, etc.). Though wished they carried a few more designers... Still, Norman's always helpful in terms of stock and sizing. And the sales are quite reasonable. Pros: Service more

Favorite Clothing Store 8/24/2002

I would go here just for the Helmut Lang stuff they carry. Luckily they carry a lot of other hard-to-find European brands like Samsonite, Mandarina Duck, Rene Lezard. Sale time, there's plenty of stuff left too. Pros: Good selection, friendly sales people Cons: Not near other stores more

Good basics and high-end clothes 5/19/2002

Two stores almost next to each other, two different concepts. One is geared toward the younger Chelsea crowd, while the other store is more high-end and understated. Nice selection of John Smedley shirts, Helmut Lang, and Mandarina Duck bags. But you can also expect that the owners will switch brands as the seasons and styles change, offering whatever they think is the most fun and fashionable. So, don't expect to see the same labels there all the time. Just always be prepared to go in and discover something new. Pros: Nice selection Cons: a little pricey more
