Not crowded, good enough 10/4/2005

This theatre usually shows inde flicks and non mainstream movies which is nice and make the theatre good enough. It's older and does not have stadium seating or any of the modern conveniences at newer theatres and does have squeaky chairs. THe perks are lots of parking and lots of space in the theatres as it's never crowded. more

The Camera Cinemas at 201 South 2 Street in san jose is my family's favorite movie theater. Not only do they show all the popular first run movies but they also show the art house type movies also. Parking is convenient. Seating is convenient and plentiful. They also offer all the typical theater concessions. more

I really like the idea of the Camera Cinemas showing some of the more non-mainstream movies like many anime, documentaries and foreign films. It's nice to be able to catch those locally outside of the crazy multiplex theatres that dominate the area. Another fun event is the Cinequest festival which highlights local talent and brings in a major celebrity or two every year, often hosted by the Camera Cinemas. So if you want to get your film culture done in one swoop, attend the Cinequest festival and enjoy. more

moms with babies 8/2/2005

us moms with babies STILL need to see movies in the theater, and this way you can. at this theater on Wednesdays and Thursdays you can see shows with your baby in tow. it's called Diaper Days and it's fantastic. I am so thankful I found it, now I can get out and enjoy one of my favorite pastimes! with my girl! more

indie cute 6/24/2005

I was shocked when I saw the size of this theater. It is probably the smallest one I've ever been in. With that said, it is also one of the most charming. It has some class and edge because it strays from the social norm and dares to show a majority of independent films and documentaries. They are not afraid of going after the obscure. I like going here when I'm in the mood to watch a movie that makes me think. This is a good theater for a date, it has an intimate feel to it. more
