Really Cool Zoo... 10/16/2006

Last weekend we went to the Caldwell Zoo in Tyler, and I love it every time we go there. It is always clean, never crowded, but the best part is how they have arranged their animals. They have built moats to separate the giraffe's, elephants, lions, etc. so you're not seeing a bunch of animals in a cage, but it looks as if they are wandering in their own environment. If you haven't been there, you should really considering checking it out. more

Caldwell Zoo 8/23/2005

This is a nice zoo for a small city. They have several sections at the zoo to look at. They have quite a few animals. Of course I think they could do without the snakes cause I am deathly afraid of them but I know a lot of little boys that enjoy that section. Its kind of expensive now that they have started charging to go in. They have a cute little gift shop there that has some nice things in it if you are trying to get something to remember the zoo by. more

Family Fun 8/17/2005

The Caldwell zoo has been around as long as I can remember and it has changed so much over the years. I wish it was still free but understand why they can't do it anymore. It has a lot of attractions and the animals aren't confined to little cages. They try to make it as close to the animals habitat as possible. They have great programs for the school kids that come and visit and the new price isn't too expensive when you buy the yearly pass. Something fun to do with the kids. more

Caldwell Zoo 8/9/2005

This is such an amazing Zoo! It is far better than the Dallas Zoo and not far behind the Fort Worth Zoo although it is a bit smaller in size. This zoo has recently undergone a huge renovation and the improvements are well worth the price of the ticket (it was free). This is a well thought-out, family friendly zoo with an amazing selection of animals due to its partnership with other larger zoos. If you come to Tyler you must come to the zoo! more

Neat Zoo for small city 7/31/2005

Caldwell Zoo has recently had a face lift! They have added a few new exhibits and the changes are really nice. This is a great zoo for a city the size of Tyler. We like to sit and have a snack while watching the giraffes. One time the kids even helped an employee feed them. It is a very relaxing outing. more
