Best

I had been hearing great things about this place for years, and last week I finally made the trip out with a couple of friends. And all I can say is, wow, it was easily worth the ...

The most variety in burgers! 5/9/2004

Have been visiting all the highly rated burger joints like Helevetia etc. So far, this is absolutely the best. Great atmosphere. The burger menu has to be the most extensive anywhere (and I mean ""anywhere""). Try the Black Bart- a polish sausage burger (1-3 patties along with spicey polishs sausges slices in a huge sandwich). I like the fact they offer a condiment bar too. The fries however were not that good-- not hand cut and a bit soggy when they arrived. Pros: variety!variety!, condiment bar, really tasty Cons: , dangerous road more

I love this place... 4/18/2004

I've been frequenting Calamity Jane's for years, and I've never found a place that has comparable food. The burgers are massive and come in 1/3lb increments. The drinks are gargantuan. The variety of choices is dazzling. Pie cherries? Sour Cream? Peanut Butter? If you've ever thought of it, they have it for your burger. Since its only location is in Sandy, it can be quite a drive for Portlanders, but it's well worth the trip. Pros: Huge portions, Inexpensive, Wonderful variety Cons: , Distant location more

Couldn't Love it More! 10/8/2003

Visited for the very first time earlier this year, I couldn't ask for a better burger! Only advice, don't be ashamed of the ""city slicker"" these burgers are super filling and worth the drive to Sandy. Pros: Fantastic Food, Friendly Staff Cons: NONE!!! more

The Great Calamity Jane's 7/23/2003

This place is great. Great people, atmosphere, location, and most of all food. The world famous burgers really are all that. I have met people from Sydney Australia who have eaten there. On the menu is just about any thing you could desire on a burger. With three different sizes to chose from any appetite can be filled. Thank you to the folks at Calamity Janes for providing a great place to get a burger. Pros: Big Food, Location, Great Burger Choices Cons: Cant eat more, I dont, have a bigger belly,, I am a true fan more

have a little fun at dinner 7/2/2003

If you're one who likes to have a little fun at dinner, then come to Calamity Jane's in the middle of dinner hour. That's when all sorts of folks come from all over to enjoy a good meal with an old western atmosphere. It's best to come when it's crowded because the more the merrier. The staff especially like to play it up with the old western theme. And if it's your birthday, be sure to get yourself over there, they'll have you standing and singing on the tables if you're willing. Pros: setting, atmosphere, crowded Cons: parking more

A Calamity--I need to go up 2 pant sizes 10/14/2002

I went here with my wife just because she wanted to visit her brother in Sandy, and after we all came here I wish this place was closer. The burger reputation is well-deserved; I ate the biggest one there (I can't remember what it's called), and got very full, and I'm an AYCE veteran. My wife's chicken fried steak was so huge and good looking I had to try a bite of that, too, and her small-framed brother ordered a simple sandwich that also managed to overflow the plate. Fantastic ambiance iside, too, with historic pictures. I'll definetely be back someday. Pros: Burgers, Large private booths, Excellent service Cons: Far-out Sandy locale more

Mega big burgers!!!! 9/11/2002

This is the best hamburger place I have ever tried. I had the hambuger that had the pineapple on it (I think its called the Hawaiian Burger) It was so good. I can't wait to go back. I came to CJ when I was on vacation from Hawaii. I didn't want to leave Oregon. Pros: Big hamburgers, Variety, variety and, variety Cons: Far away more

Sweet Calamity! 7/25/2002

The best burgers in Oregon. Period. Anyone who argues otherwise hasn't been there. I have been to most of the places on the 'best hamburger' list and none even come close. Worth the drive to get there! more

Thank you Calamity 6/18/2002

I've been away at school for the past 4 months (east coast), so I have been without the glorious gift of a Trail Boss teriyaki burger from Calamity Jane's. No one on the east coast can appreciate bliss found in a pound of beef served at Calamity Jane's. With in the first few days of being home, I made the trek up to Sandy to enjoy the much anticipated meal fit for any Oregonian. I must say, Calamity, you never cease to please me with your magnificent food. Thank you for burger number 50. more
