Really Bad Customer Service 7/5/2008

The employees are so rude. There is seriously bad energy at the queen anne and bothell cafe ladro locations, its like they are told to be nasty to people or something...maybe they are treated badly and its a bad place to work or something. I have had several bad experiences - kept giving them 2nd chances because i dont like the taste of starbucks coffee...but cafe ladro employees are just consistently rude to customers and so i will not go here again and i will find somewhere else to get my coffee and would advise folks to go somewhere else for your coffee where you will be treated well. shouldn't that be the case? you pay them money - they should at least be a little pleasant! at a minimum they should not be rude! more

Order the Medici Mocha with fresh orange peel! 4/3/2008

Order the Medici Mocha with fresh orange peel! The fresh orange essence makes this drink heavenly - there's no way one of the big chain coffee shops could ever put so much love into your coffee. Ladro is the gold standard for Seattle coffee, no one else comes close. While you're there, check out the every-changing art gallery by local artists, and snag one of the outdoor adinarondack chairs for the best people watching on Queen Anne Ave. Pros: Original drink menu, medici mochas, adinarondack chairs, quality, service Cons: Located too far away from my home! more

I'll avoid this one for a shop that combines great coffee with great service... 11/25/2007

I must be the only person who has had a less than magical experience at this coffeeshop. While the coffee is usually pretty tasty, I have found the baristas to be unnecessarily rude. In the past, the staff's haughtiness hasn't interfered with their coffee-making but this last time, the coffee drinks weren't even good. In future, I'll avoid this one for a shop that combines great coffee with great service. more

Great coffee and generous spirit! 7/26/2005

The cafe is wonderful! Not only do they serve amazing espresso and cake, but they also come with a very big heart. The store donated one of their signature desserts for a very beneficial cause, which just goes to show how much they love the Seattle community. Whether you're a regular local or an out-of-towner, this is the best place to grab a quick pick me up. Or sit back and take in the atmosphere. Cheers! more

Depends on location 11/22/2002

Sure the downtown and East Capital hill locations leave something to be desired, however in Queen Anne or Freemont you get a great ambiance. more

ghost town for good reason 10/31/2002

No wonder this place is always empty! Mediocre coffee, sterile atmosphere and a genric crowd to boot. Great if you like chains, unintersting clientele & don't care about good coffee or pastries. Cons: chain store, sterile, bad coffee more

Ladro is the BEST! 10/14/2002

Every morning I stop by the Ladro in lower QA and get my double-tall nonfat. Hands down, it's the best latte in town. the Espresso chip cookies and muffins are awesome too. The staff is fun. On weekends, i go to the one on the top of QA and it's great as well. Give it a try... more

low keyed perfection 10/14/2002

Ladro on 15th Ave: Very friendly and unpretentious cafe. The staff are always charming and helpful. The desserts and pastries are delicious. more

Yes, Yes, Yes! 10/14/2002

Great Coffee! Great Decor! Great Desserts! Friendly Baristas who pull delicious shots! Pros: Coffee, Decor Cons: Need one closer more

Go TO ETG!! 8/23/2002

Every time I have been to Cafe Ladro it has been bad. I would much rather go to ETG down the street in Fremont. more

just don't like it 7/27/2002

I don't really understand why folks think that Ladro takes their coffee seriously. They don't even tamp their own espresso, they let an automatic gridner/tamper do it for them for godssakes! (where's the art?!) Ladro is all marketing, no soul, quality or taste in interior design! And with 8 shops, they are losing their ability to throw around the word ""independent"" and have people believe that means ""good""! I just don't like it. more

Ladro Changes Beans!!! - Disappointed 7/25/2002

OK, I understand the nobility of supporting a cause, but I was extremely disappointed recently when I went into my favorite Cafe Ladro to get that rich, smooth cappuccino I crave so often. A huge banner was draped across the front of the counter proclaiming that Cafe Ladro had changed their beans!!! NOOOOO! Please go back to the old Vita beans and keep tradition and flavor a priority. You can even charge me more for it and take the money and donate it to whatever cause you want... just bring back my coffee!!! I have to drop my perfect 10 score down to an 8 just because of this!!! more

serious about coffee 7/25/2002

their ambience isn't quite as cool as a few other places, but these people are serious about coffee. they pull shots correctly, and the flavor shows. its so sad that people in seattle have been trained to think starbucks actually knows how to make a good cup of coffee. starbucks knows how to burn a good cup of coffee. go to ladro--a local independent gem! (and no, i don't work for them). Pros: they do coffee right Cons: 15th E shop too small more

You have to try the pie! 7/23/2002

Great service! (Fremont and Queen Anne). Delicious pasteries and consistent coffee. Your latte will always be the way you want it! Great place to chat or study! more

Theres No Place Like Foam! 7/19/2002

I made the mistake of taking my mom here and now when she visits we can't go anywhere but here! This is the best coffee in town. The counter help is great too! The foam is like cream. I have yet to meet a person who dissagree's. Pros: Inexpensive, Conviently located, Intelligent staff Cons: Crowded more

If you know Jack - 5/22/2002

Pleasant, even friendly service, good coffee, great pastries. The only reason to go to one of the big names down the street is because Ladro is closed. more
