Dinner Nirvana!! 1/8/2008

My friend and I went there for dinner on the suggestion of a hotel employee. It is one of her family favorites. It was fabulous!! We had a feta cheese appetizer that was served with the lepinja bread, drizzled with imported olive oil & spices, sliced tomatoes, olives and a red pepper spread. The Bosnian lemonade (with a hint of grapefruit) is great. I tried the fried anchovies and loved them! Everything was wonderful. I will be back very soon to try more of this magnificently prepared food! The waitress, owner and cook were all very personable and made great suggestions! Ask Omer to help with your choices if you can't decide! Pros: great food, friendly staff, very affordable, great value Cons: everything tastes great . . . made me forget my diet!!! more

cafe pita + is very bad and here is why............. 1/8/2008

I bought a scooter and i needed a breaker bar to fix it, to make a long story short i was behind cafe pita + yes off of westhimer and behind the restarant i was in the alley looking for a breaker bar to fix my scooter and i wish i was wrong but i saw with my friend as a witness (i also have pictures) a full grown dog in a pig cooker being cooked. The cook seen the flashes from inside the resturant and ran out telling me that this is private property and that i better leave. It was hooked up to an electric motor and like i say i have pictures, and video from my digital camera to prove this . If you have the stomach to see them email oneslimster@yahoo.c o m Maybe you can help me come up with an idea of what i should do. I have not ate there, I live a block away and i feel sorry for the people that have. Pros: DO NOT EAT THERE Cons: DO NOT EAT THERE more

delicious! 1/8/2008

the food was delicious, the service personable and the prices more than reasonable. my friend and i asked the owner to choose our meal and we were delighted by his choice of girice, the deep fried anchovies, a dish neither of us would have chosen on our own. the fish were flavorful, crispy and the ""speciality cocktail sauce"" was a tasty, tangy compliment. next came the cabbage rolls. fresh and hot served with a generous sized wedge of lepinja bread, a chewy bread perfect for holding the weight of the sauce without losing its flavor. just when we thought we couldn't eat another thing a bosnian pizza appeared on our table. the thin, hand made crust immediately brought me back to the pizza of my childhood. the pizza was topped with halal beef sausage and smoked filet, mushrooms, and a smattering of chopped onions. it was greasy, savory and satisfying. the leftover pizza was devoured by my kids for breakfast the very next morning. for dessert we sampled the baklava and the sutlia..rice pudding with a sweet caramel sauce. my favorite! in the end, dinner for 2 set us back a mere 40$. i will most definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family and my kids and i will visit again soon. more
