When I moved to Melrose in 1999, I tried all the dry cleaners in the area until I found this one. Their prices and service are the best around, and I have been coming here regula...

A good cleaner, located on E Olive Way near the Starbucks at Summit Avenue. The service is always two-days, judging by my experience, but the pricing is the same as a same-day cle...

NOT BE TRUSTED! RIP-OFF ARTISTS! 4/19/2018

I dropped off a bunch of shirts to be laundered by CH Cleaners (along with a pair of slacks and a tiny pocket re-stitching for a jacket). One of the shirts was linen and needed to be dry cleaned (per usual). The other 25 were to be laundered, no starch. The total cost on my claim receipt was $96.55. When I went to pick up the items, they told me the cost was now $148.87. More than $50 than that the receipt said! When I questioned why such a drastic increase to the price, they said I must be using the ticket from last time. Huh? No, I had the correct ticket for the correct order. Next, they said that 12 of the shirts that were to be laundered had to be "hand pressed". This is the most ridiculous excuse I have ever heard. I have had all of these shirts laundered many times at other dry cleaners with absolutely no special exceptions. Why wouldn't they tell me this when I dropped the items off? This is not right. This is a clear example of a small business taking advantage of the local community and it's very disappointing. I have read other comments on this site experiencing this same exact situation so they must pull this extortion tactic on innocent customers frequently. I was scammed out of $50 from this dishonest, unethical neighborhood business and will never step foot in CH Cleaners again. Buyer beware. more

Happy Customer of Almost 10 Years 12/7/2006

Even though I no longer live in the immediate neighborhood, I make a pilgrimmage there as I have trusted them with my dry cleaning needs for ten years. They are reasonably priced, in a great location (with parking and on the bus line), and very fast & friendly. I had left Seattle for a few years & upon my return, they even remembered me! They are always very friendly & I couldn't recommend a better dry cleaner. more

Expensive, But Passable 8/17/2005

A good cleaner, located on E Olive Way near the Starbucks at Summit Avenue. The service is always two-days, judging by my experience, but the pricing is the same as a same-day cleaner. This is kind of a drawback, as you pay the same to get less service. The actual cleaning done is okay, and nothing special. Some alterations are done upon request. Good in a pinch, but again, nothing to write home about. more

Great realiable Cleaners 8/9/2005

You know when you first move to a new neighborhood you always have to search for the essential local retailers and services (liquor store, good local bar, ,liquor store, grocery store, dry cleaners * in that order). I was lucky enough to have the recommendation of a friend for a good cleaners. Although Capital Hill has quite a few dry cleaners, what separates C H Cleaners from the rest is that they do their laundry and pressing in-house. Many cleaners send their laundry off premises and only do alterations and minor pressing. I went to C H Cleaners to launder and press 8 shirts and have 2 suits pressed. Dropped them off at about 3pm and returned to get them the following day. Service and price are excellent. I highly recommend this cleaner. Also there is limited parking for those of you that drive. more

Capital Hill Cleaner 8/8/2005

C H Cleaners & Alteration is now my favorite cleaner in the Capital Hill area. 1. They are always quick. 9 out of 10 times they tell me that my order will be ready by 5PM the next day. 2. They have a discount for doing a bunch of shirts. 4. They do a good job of pressing shirts. 5. They are close to me. 6. They have parking. What I don’t like is that they write my name on my shirts! It’s always in a place where no one would see it but it’s just irritating. It’s been a long time since my name was necessary on my clothing and it should stay that way …minus one star. more
