the office personal is not very friendly. They do not want to talk to me to rectify the issue, but talk behind my back to the Realtor. more

First of all, my husband is stationed here at Ft. Campbell in the US Army. We do not recommend renting from Byers and Harvey, military or not! We've always been quiet, kept up our home, never late with rent, very respectable family, etc. I never take the time to write these things, but I thought everyone should know how unprofessional their management is and how crappy their maintenance is. We've lived at the town homes on Coyote Ct. and now at apartments on tiny town. When we were in our town home, our neighbors washer leaked into our kitchen and caused our flooring to swell and leak. After calling for months to have someone come out and fix it, I gave up. My husband had to cut out the wet nasty flooring himself bc it was molding. After we moved out they tried to charge us for the flooring, but after arguing and they finally took the time to look up our report we weren't charged. Now at the apartments we live in I called to have my window fixed, that's was broken when we moved in, and it took them 3 months to come out and fix it. It was only the locking mechanism that was broken, but it was letting in a cold draft and not shutting properly. My heater wasn't working properly during December and when someone came out to fix it or look at it, all they did was bang their fist on my thermostat, literally. My husband and I went out of state for 3 weeks and the day after we came home I noticed a leak around my toilet so I called maintenance and was told someone would come out right away. I called right before their office closed to make sure he was still coming and was told he was. About an hour or so after they closed he called my husband, who had no idea what was going on bc he was not home. My husband asked him to go ahead and come out if I had called. The weekend passed and I ended up having to take my 8 month old to the hospital and was not home until Thursday morning. I called Thursday morning and asked to speak to a manager. After being put on hold 3 times and hung up on, I finally spoke to her and she was very rude and unprofessional. I tried explaining to her what my problem was and that I noticed the night the maintenance man was supposed to come that the leak was actually coming from our laundry room. I moved my husbands deployment gear that was soaked and noticed black mold, bulged tiles, wet carpet, wet tiles and the walls were wet. She asked why I waited so long to call back if I had mold in my house. I went off!!!!! UHm probably bc I haven't been home!!! I was in the hospital with my 8 month old and my husbands been gone! I do not recommend buyers and Harvey. They're very rude and unprofessional and very incompetent. Never again will we rent from them. more

I am so glad to see we are not the only family who had issues with this rental agency. When we moved in at Coyote Ct townhomes it was a nice area, but over the course of 2.5 years the neighbors around us kept getting worse. They let their dog use the bathroom right infront of our doorstep, there was dog poo all over the place because no one picked up after their pets. We also had a baby while living there and had noise issues with our neighbors. Then we had neighbors who worked on their car in the parking lot every single day, which I believe is stated in our lease agreement that you cannot do that. These items were reported but nothing was ever done. At one point our oven broke and it took a week to get it fixed. We also had maintenance issues with our heat and air, both times it took 3-4 days to get the issues resolved. We have been renting for over 15 years at over 8 locations in 3 different states and we have always gotten close to our full deposit back. We paid a pet deposit which I was told today is a ""privilege fee"" and does not cover anything with the pets. Not even the flea spray!!! The lady who checked us out Friday was 15 min late for the appointment and never apologized when she walked in. She actually did not even speak unless spoken to while she was doing the inspection. Very unfriendly and unprofessional to say the least. We paid a professional cleaner $100 to make the place immaculate, but we are still being charged a $60 cleaning fee because there was a little dust on baseboards and some lint on dryer. What a shame because we were exceptional renters for them. We professionaly cleaned our carpet 2 times while living there, kept the place up, it looked just as nice as we found it, and always paid rent on time or early. I NEVER take the time to make comments like this but I hope others will read this before they make a final decision to rent. At least they will know up front they will throw away a lot of money in their deposits. I hope the people at Byers and Harvey will read these comments and make some positive changes to the way they do business. more

I wish I had read the previous reviews before moving in with Byers & Harvey. My husband is a US soldier stationed at Ft. Campbell Army Base. We are a military family with children. Great credit, never late on payments, very respectful of our rental properties, and quiet neighbors. Lets start with the maintenance. Our heat and our A/C both went out and it took Byers & Harvey 3 days to get someone out when we had a new born baby! We had to replace the thermostat ourselves, and purchase space heaters. The neighbors that moved in 6 months into our lease had many issues to say the least. Threatened my husband, kept our baby up, and long story short we had to call the police many times with NO help from management. Upon our move in we were very honest about our pet. We have a 3lb teacup Yorkie. We paid a 300.00 non-refundable deposit for our pet fee in case of any clean-up etc. Also upon move in we paid 625.00. We gave prompt 30 day notice, our pet caused ZERO damage and aside from cleaning and up-keeping our home we also had the paint matched and patched the walls. In 12yrs of renting apartments in several states I have always received back close to my full deposit and I have NEVER been taken advantage of like I did with Byers & Harvey!!!!! They returned 250.00 out of over 900.00 that was initially paid to them. I understand having the carpets cleaned etc. However, they had to have the water turned on for 2wks in order to clean our home and also paid a cleaning service over 150.00 to clean a well kept home! I would NEVER EVER recommend BYERS & HARVEY to anyone! Its Christmas and we have now been relocated to Germany. Byers & Harvey stole from me and they stole from my family! We will be in touch with Ft. Campbell to see about having them BLACKLISTED so something like this never happens again to another military family. SHAME ON YOU Byers&Harvey more

Buyers & Harvey very Unprofessional 5/11/2012

I recommend not to rent from Buyers & Harvey. In 2010 my husband deployed to Afghanistan and he took the orders to Buyers & Harvey to inform them that we had to dismiss our contract. At the time we were good to leave and everything was good we got the deposit back we left on good terms. When he returned in 2011 we went right back to Buyers & Harvey in the past we really liked the place so we wanted to move back in them. Now they charged us $625 for rent and $625 for deposit 2 bedroom. Only this time we moved on out in April due to orders again we notified them. We were moving out of state and the future management wanted Buyers & Harvey's rental information and reference. We have not ever been late on our rent, we do not cause any problems, and we kept to ourselves. Buyers & Harvey gave us a bad review to the point we were denied to get any place. Until we went to them in person and they apologized a lady did not know who we are and did not put the correct information down for our review. So when we moved out we did a walk through of the apartment the lady informed us not much money will be taken out of our deposit. Today I received the deposit back in a check for $60 of the $625 deposit. The papers of the totals and the pricing had different types of writing of multiple people and the price was white out with the original price less than what it stated on the paper. I will get a word with the property manager as someone of Buyer & Harvey tempered with the numbers. As I talked to the person who did my inspection said we all have different numbers stated on her papers and ours papers and he white out we all have different amount. For the future military family looking for a place to rent I do not recommend this company. They have so much excuses for everything and the ladies are not that business professional in their manners. Honestly I think families should really take their time to look around and find a place that is all about integrity, professional, respectful and well mannered business company. I do not like the fact Buyers & Harvey feel they can talk the talk but can not walk the walk. Its a two way street and they need to realize they wouldn't have such a successful business if it weren't for Fort Campbell Base and its soldiers and family. I guarantee that I will take this manner to another level of don't mess with my money and don't insult my intelligence. They will sure be hearing from me. Pros: null Cons: null more

Byers & Harvey's Policies Take Advantage of Leasees 7/10/2011

My family recently terminated a lease with Byers & Harvey in Clarksville, TN. As a military family, I am naturally leery of rental home agencies because military families can be easy targets for excessive rates and fees. The move-in process was relatively simple with B&H; we established our payments through an allotment system and had virtually no contact with the agency for one year, until we ended our lease and prepared to move out. That is when our issues began. more

Freindly and helpful staff 1/10/2011

My husband contacted them and set up everything for me to go through the process while he was deployed (before we were married) so that I could get him a place to live when he came home. The staff was friendly, the apartment was excellent, and anytime we needed anything we only had to call. We stayed with them for over 1.5 years and never had a problem. Move in and move out process was excellent and simple! I would definitely suggest them to anyone! more

Horrible Staff 9/14/2006

Last year my husband and I rented from this company. When we moved in, it was so dirty and nasty. The stove door was hanging off the hinges, and the window was broken. My husband and I always paid our rent at the first of the month, and we were never late once. However we came home 3 times to Eviction notices on our door, due to non-payment. I kept my receipts, and bank statements showing we had paid. They said "oh sorry it was meant for the property above you." Funny it had both our names on it. When we moved out they took almost all our deposit. They "claimed" the apartment was nasty. My husband and I washed the walls. When we went over the cost of cleaning. It said, "mopped kitchen floor 75 dollars" Our kitchen was CARPET!! We have heard of other families with the same problems. STAY AWAY! they are crooks! PROS: Cheap rent CONS: they have a poor book-keeping staff, and rip you off with your deposit more
