great for children and adults alike 11/11/2005

This museum is great for children and adults alike. They offer a lot of classes for children such as sculpting and paper projects. They are many great artworks by some very big names on display. The children love it and this is another great choice for a childs day out or even a school field trip. more

Star of the American art world 8/18/2005

The Butler is another gem in Youngstown’s impressive arts scene. The Butler is nationally recognized as one of the leading museums of American arts. Its most famous piece is probably the Whip Prints By Winslow Homer, one of the first pieces purchased for the museum by Mr. Butler, the founder. Over the years the museum has expanded and now includes a technology center for electronic arts, which has some really cool exhibits, the likes of which wouldn’t normally be seen in a city of Youngstown’s size. more

Fun and Free 5/17/2005

This is a great museum located in downtown Youngstown, right next to the Yongstown State University campus. You might recognize it by the bronze sculpture that sits out front. Admission is free but they do accept donation. Additionally, free parking is available. Classes and tours are available at the museum and there are activities specifically geared town children. more
